Hello Bethany! Have you done a video showing how to organize scrapbook paper? Specifically, I am looking for a relatively inexpensive way to organize and hold 12x12 papers. Another thing I have been looking for is a way to organize and store scrap paper. Please do a video on some of your ideas about organizing and storing craft paper for scrapbooking and other projects. I’ve looked at many videos and nothing has really stood out to me yet. Thank you for possibly considering this as an idea for an episode.

One recommendation when using the wood to encase the crates: have the top be on top of the sides instead of hanging in between them. While you’re not putting a lot of weight on this, the top is still just relying upon the strength of the glue and nails. Having the top on top of the sides provides greater strength and transfers whatever load is placed on it down the sides. It’s simply a stronger joint. Cheers!

@Angel_Billy4-30-23 2 жыл бұрын
It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out what you meant. But yes, I agree it would definitely make it a bit stronger doing it the way you mentioned. Thank you for pointing that out because I definitely would have made the same mistake if I was making this.

I’m confused, after reading about 5 times, I still don’t understand. Help? 😆
@GhoulishCop
@GhoulishCop Жыл бұрын
@@jen7916 Yeah, it wasn't the clearest explanation. If you look at the video (beginning at 7:25), Bethany glues the side pieces to the top. She essentially sandwiches the top in between the two side. Doing it that way relies upon the strength of the glue and nails to hold up the shelf. What I'm saying is to attach the sides by gluing them underneath the top piece, that way the weight of whatever you place on the shelf is transferred down through the sides rather than trusting just the glue to hold it up. It's just a much stronger way to build it. Hope that makes it a little clearer.

I started watching you when you did your original crate project! I have 2 towers of 3, spaced apart and a dowel/rod inserted in the top 2 crates, spanning the opening. I put pinch curtain/cafe hooks on the dowel and can hang small bags of miscellaneous craft items and small buckets below for paint brushes & larger bottles of paint that won't fit in the crates! I made it especially to fit a small window sill and it gave me so much storage and it's so close at hand!

@Vro-
@Vro- 2 жыл бұрын
@@robinmartin9840 Hi, I don't have any pics but if you make 2 towers of three stacked crates (I used zip ties to attach) I then took a dowel/rod, strung the cafe curtain style rings with the pinch clips. Then inserted it into the top row of holes in the crates to connect the 2 towers and pushed them apart to fit my space. It gives room to clip zip lock bags, and below on the ledge of my window I've put a few containers for paint brushes, stir sticks etc. I hope this helped!

I totally remember this diy. It was amazing then and amazing now. I love how creative you are. I look forward to your holiday DIYs especially Christmas. Thanksgiving is one of the most important holidays so I’m asking if you can creat some things specifically for Thanksgiving besides just fall DIYs. As I ask you last year, I would appreciate your early creations for Christmas. Thank you for all you do. You make me happy. I’ve been suffering from anxiety especially now that we lost everything in a flood in our apartment do to a fire from our upstairs neighbor. At least we are okay. Watching you creat and listening to your Joyes voice, helps me more than you know. Also to make things that you teach us how to make, keeps me busy and focused doing something I love. Thank you so much sweet girl. Keep on creating. Oh, do you have any ideas for Christmas DIYs for an apartment patio? Take care and keep safe. 🤗

Bargain Bethany yes! I remember your original DIY video. I surprised my mom when she was on vacation and built her a place for her crazy, Imelda Marcos sized shoe collection. She was a fan of Renaissance and Baroque styles already so I used antique gold spray paint over red and wiped gently here and there. It fit right in w her expensive furniture. Covered 3 sides of each cube w marble contact paper to cover the holes. Still looks gorgeous toady! Thank you for the additional genius ideas!

Yes, I do remember the original crate project.n still love it. I made a version of it to store all my florals and greenery in my craft room. The holes are perfect to stick florals in, on the inside and outside of the crates. Just one comment about the one you store cleaning supplies on. Instead of using binder rings th hold the mop and broom, use S hooks. It saves time not having to open and close the rings for each use. Love you videos. Just watched you new Halloween one yesterday. BRILLIANT.😍

Definitely using the ribbon organizing tip. I have loads of ribbon I use for creating wreaths, hair accessories and accents in memory albums. My dad has been working on emptying his garage and he has lots of wood - so instead of me buying rain gutters for storing ribbon on the sides of my shelving units, he made them using the wood scraps in his garage. I like them lots, but they don't float inside like I would rather have. He made them more for storing than as a tool for easy use. I'll still use them as they fit the sides of my IKEA solid wood shelving system perfectly!

This video came at the perfect time. I want to create some kind of shelf system in my crafting closet. Is there a way to also add the dollar tree bins? I'm loving the ribbon idea and I will be doing that with my massive ribbon collection
