Do not buy counterfeit products. This was my first upload in years, very amateur. I'll keep it up for educational purposes.
Today we'll be comparing an authentic Omega Moonswatch Mission to Mercury, Mission to Pluto and Mission to Saturn with two fake AliExpress Omega Moonswatch models

To correct the chronograph hand you just need to pull the crown and advance it by pushing the top pusher until in lines up.

Not gonna lie...aftee seeing a few reviews on the fakes.. I ordered the fake. Saw a few Moonswatches at the Galleria today and wasn't worth the 300

@@gadgetbeaconI've got one. Paid $9 for it on Shopee. Same model fake. Its fine. Much better than spending $500 for a real one. I don't have any of the QA problems you have though. Case back is center, chrono functions. The movement is a PE50 so if it breaks just order one off ali. Hasn't broken for yet, and I've got another watch with the same movement thats been good for a year. You can reset the resting place of the chrono hand by pulling the crown all the way out, and pressing the buttons. The thing that bothers me that you didn't cover is setting the time. Pushing the crown in makes the minute hand jump a minute or two ahead or back. Maybe this is just a me problem though.

the sweep moment on the fake is really cool honestly Idc what people say but i have an original moon swatch but I would have baught the copy rather than the fakes😁

Do the subdials even work? They didn't reset when u reset the chronograph

Great catch! They do not operate the same way as the authentic moons watch, you're correct. It is another easy way to spot a fake.

Left subdial - 60 minute chrono Right subdial - 12 hour clock Bottom subdial - second hand (non-chrono)

It's a (fake I guess at the price) Seiko mecha-quartz as used in many a Daytona/Speedy homage (Pagani and the like). The 3am subdial is a 24hr clock (wrongly marked up in this case). That's also why the chrono hand sweeps.

I got Kim an articulated Canvas lamp with a built in phone mount. It's super stable made filming a lot easier

I saw the fake in actual and the strap really looks way off. Im not really sure but it seems majority of the legit ones have a shiny strap, while in the fakes they can't really copy that shiny effect. How come the fake makers don't consider that one lol

Great video! I wish you would have removed the back to show the difference between the fake and genuine. The insides of the watch is where the real differences are. On mine I discovered a fake battery posing as the real battery. This battery is the one you see when you remove the small moon cover. But if you remove the entire back cover you’ll see that this is not the battery that’s powering the watch. Up until now I wasn’t 100% sure I had a fake.

The easiest way to differentiate it immediately is the 3:00 subdial. The real is chrono an and the fake is a 24hr. The fake only points upward at midnight

Literally the biggest give away for any fake moonswatch and it’s never mentioned in any of the fake spotting videos. Entirely different movement. I could spot a fake from 10 feet away just by noticing what the subdial hands are doing

@Garreth Page wrong. It's a pe50 movement, the 3:00 subdail on those moves with the hour hand and acts as a 24hr subdial on the watch shown. There is no "set it up correctly". At 6:00 am it will point to the right, at 12:00 it points directly down, at 6:00 pm it points to the left and at midnight it points straight up. You should familiarize yourself with the pe50 movement used in this replica.

Most people would like to have the real, but it’s too hard to get and too limited. I’ve tried in Vegas and Hawaii and definitely didn’t cope. Then on the 2nd market it’s a gamble since 80% are fake. Might as well go to the source for the fake and spend $25 bucks vs $350+ for 2nd market. 🤷🏾

Dam the differences are so small who cares. Thank you video. I would not mind wearing the Rep. 95% don’t care what Watch or brand you wear. Unless they truly invest time and money. Which they won’t ✌🏾

It blows my mind that these got fakes lol. After the amount of hate they initially got in the watch community then the obnoxious overhead resales that flopped 😂

If swatch sold these for 50 bucks and not 350 it would have been the most positively acclaimed watch release of all time, lol. People got super hyped then got butthurt when they realized it was expensive and hard to get.

Well,for a 30$ fake you don’t loose a lot,almost looks the same,scratches as easy as the original,falls apart like the original. Great looking watch but i’m happier for 30$ and worry less.

Don't take this personally - because I know it's the only way to do it - which leads to my dilemma. When you are looking to purchase a watch, you don't have a fake to compare it to. It's virtually impossible. I will only buy online when the person will accept a return within reason. I then have the ability to take it to my watch person and have it authenticated.

I think that's valid, but there are enough giveaways with these fakes to spot one in the wild. The biggest issues online is the seller using a stock image rather than an image of the watch you'll really be receiving. This is more for Facebook marketplace, craigslist, reddit, etc where a private seller has taken photos of their fake watch.

You have bought it to cheap. Normallythe fakes, last longer than the real ones. The real one, people are omplaining about broken off chrono pushers etc. And the fake ones, holds time better. The moonSwatch are just a overpriced plasticwatch. There are many watches at at cheaper price, that has better spechs, and holds better value pr. $ And that's not any fakes.

Dude, 1) set the phone on a tripod so we don't have a shaky video. 2) stop treating the watches so badly, it hurt to watch

Thanks for your comment! After this video I did invest in a new tripod setup. I don't feel that I did any damage to the watches but in the future I'll try to set the acrylic down on a cloth rather than the table
