Kinda reminds me of my biology professor at high school. The first class we had, he came up with some ridiculously strict rules, tough questions none of us could have possibly answered, stuff like this. I came home thinking he was some lunatic who was gonna make our lifes miserable. Next class we found out he had just trolled us big time, he was actually a very kind person with a wonderful sense of humor and cracking one-liners and also a first class expert, whose tests proved to be one of the easiest ones. I still remember him fondly to this day, 10 years after that horrible first class. :D

One of my psych professors did this in lecture hall. He sat in the middle of the room, class was full to capacity, 15 minutes late and no teacher showed up. I knew who he was, as he was my teacher in previous class. I, like a few others knew what he was up to, so we kept quiet. People started saying things like "fuck this bitchass teacher," "what loser," and so on. Finally one student got up and told everyone to make a list of all the students present and leave. Then, the professor stated "that would be a great idea so I know who to kick out of my class!" You could just see the terror in the faces of all the people who were talking shit! It was hilarious! The teacher of course explained it was a practice in observing the true hypocrisy in people, it was psych class after all.

I started college at 45 and was the first person in class on opening day. I was dressed in khaki shorts and a polo shirt and have grey hair with a full grey/white beard. I was fumbling with my computer and stuff on the front row when the other students began to come in. I have a nasty sense of humor (ask my wife) so I told everyone to take a seat and we'd take role at the top of the hour. To my defense, I didn't lie one bit. When the actual prof walked in to the front of the room everyone looked at me and said, "Who the hell are you?" You can only do that once before everyone has had a class with you or realizes that professors don't wear shorts to class.
