@@etebol I’ve only purchased two vsf submariners, so I am not so sure about vrf gmt master one. But as far as I can tell from my experience and the others, vsf are the finest. And yes, if its not heavily used, then definitely you could sell these reps. But in the end, you are only paying $500-600, so it looks identical and if it last 3-4 years (most likely on these top tier reps), I think it is well worth every penny.

I just ordered a set w/o a movement from Raffles Dials and an ETA 2824-2 from some dude in Dubai; if everything goes well should be a good watch for many years to come; my thinking is I really like 41mm datejust but I don't wanna fork out 10G's yet. If I do like the Rolex a lot, I'll get the original and my nephew gets my "hand me downs"....he never complains though. Peace!

@@steelsteez6118 I think you're right.....and wrong. For me there's a huge difference between wearing a rep of a watch you own and wearing a rep of one you don't.... If you own a rolex but want to keep it in it's box in a safe, that's definitely understandable for multiple reasons. So wearing a high end rep for daily wear in that context makes sense to me because you know in your mind that you own the genuine watch. There's nothing embarrassing about that in my opinion....you're just a rolex owner that's sensible enough to wear your watch whilst also keeping it safe. However if you wear a rep of a watch you don't own, that's just a lie in my opinion. I don't understand it personally. If you claim it's real, you're lying to yourself and others. If you admit it's fake, how is that a good thing? How is that in any way attractive? Surely it'd make more sense to buy a decent, nice looking and genuine watch at the same price like Longines, Oris etc. So for me, you ARE correct and I get what you're saying, but I do think it's different if you actually own the genuine. That's the only time I'd ever wear a rep anyway. I'd feel really lame wearing one otherwise.

@@watchmakerjd8525 The deal with this VS3135 movement inside of the VSF 116610LN is this movement can also take a genuine 3135 parts including the balance bridge. You might have to broach a few holes out. But its easily can be done. So you cant always depend on the regulator arms sticking out of the balance to spot if fake or not.

nope - if you check the seal surface, replace the seals, grease lightly, and pressure test, you can get these up to 10 bar or higher

if you doubt it then replace the crown and tube and seals with gen. the back never leaks unless its scratched or the seal fails and the crystal can be tested and inspected with a loupe

There are factories now doing the same bridge as Rolex with just the one (No functionality) and the other 2 hidden behind and under the auto works.

Dial feet are in different positions and hand sizes are different. You would need to source a new dial for 2824/2836 or remove the feet from your old dial and use dial stickers to mount to 2836. You would need to source new hands. Stem height is different also, 2.25mm vs 2.5mm (8215). This is only 0.25mm difference so probably not a problem for the stem/crown alignment.

@@EthericZone Oh yes you would need a dial spacer. That might be included with the new movement, not sure. The Miyota dial spacer might work but may need modification since dial feet are in different location. If using dial dots, that alone may create the space you need without using the dial spacer. I'd be curious to see how it works out. I haven't done the mod myself. Unfortunately I don't know of a high beat direct replacement for 8215. I'm surprised nobody makes one.
