Fake SQ12 vs SQ12 Mini Camera

I didn't think I would make another one of these videos.
I saw an SQ12 at a ridiculously low price and decided to buy it. I had guessed that it could be fake, but didn't think it was actually fake.
The main differences between these two cameras:
-The real SQ12 has a wide-angle lens while this doesn't.
-The real SQ12 has a 1080p recording option while the clone doesn't have one.
-The image quality of the fake one isn't that great.
-The fake SQ12 actually weighs less than the original.
Sorry if this video isn't as good as the SQ11 one, this was kind of rushed.
I've now heard things about a Polaroid Cube Act II being worse than the original, so I might check that out. I bought these cameras as an alternative to the GoPro Hero Session for FPV Hot Wheels.
I am not 100% sure that this is fake, but either way each does do different things.

Thank you for your review. I bought three of them, but they were all wrong, and the way they worked, so I checked them out, and they were fake. According to the review, a lot of fake products are sold on the market

I already had a REAL SQ11. Then I ordered a SQ20 from AliExpress and they sent me a FAKE SQ11! And I ordered a sSQ12 and it was a FAKE SQ12 like you show in the video. So perhaps we should pay them with FAKE money?

@Marcos Leite I did for getting a fake SQ11 instead of a SQ20. To be honest, for 4 Euro the fake SQ11 isn't all that bad.

@@Simon-qe1rl Man i tell you i`ve had nothing but problems uploading SQ 12 videos to KZfaq. Just keeps denying the upload of course after it is has uploaded and keeps saying video is too long but as we all know the files are only 5 minutes long. Stupid KZfaq :(

@@mybluebelly That is because they are avi files so they are a lot bigger. You need to convert them to mp4. I did this on my laptop after editing some vids. I will check which programme I used if you wish and let you know tomorrow.

Once you turn on the camera, you press the mode (M) button once to get 1080p. You should see a mix of red and blue lights.

Thank you for the video. I now know I have a fake SQ12. You showed the sides of the fake box but not the real box. Is there a difference between them? Also, when you press and hold the on button the blue LED lights up on the real on but with the fake one it only lights up when you take your finger off the on button.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that any listing is 100% real. The best advice I can give is to look for listings with a ton of purchases and user reviews with pictures. Fake SQ12s are somewhat easy to spot in my opinion, but the easiest way for me to describe it is to look at the lens and shape of the lens.

I get around 45ish minutes with a fully charge when recording on 720p, but that number may be down, since my camera is around a year old.

Well, I bought one recently and I'm a bit confused wheter it is fake or not. The video quality of my cam is in between these two examples, and in general worse than in SQ12 review videos I've seen. However, the lens looks exactly like the original, weight is about 17g, 1080p is available and I've got all the accessories with the proper instructions. The only excecption is, It came in the box and it looks like the fake's one. So I don't know. Maybe it's just a piece of shit.

Is the lens wide-angle? Also, these cameras aren't that good in video quality. In direct sunlight, the video looks terrible from both cameras.

Yes, it is wide-angle. When playing the video I need to set a panoramic aspect ratio to get rid of distortions.

Which side is real on the screen, left and right?? L SIDE LENS ROUND (REAL) , R SIDE LENS FLAT. (FAKE)

I buy and sell these cameras and the only way I can know which are real or fake is by the color and shape of the lens and the weight. The real SQ12 has a curved lens and is black in color. The fake SQ12 has a flat lens and a red ish type color. The weight of the real one is around 16 grams. The fake is around 14 grams.

GOOGLE: FAKE MEANING: not genuine; imitation or counterfeit. You test 2 SAME China unbranded cameras, I think 100% same cameras, from 2 batches. YOU NOT TEST VIDEO, test only visual camera body. You not show the camera body in test, WHY? I NEVER CAN DO the SAME REVIEW. Problem: I CAN'T BUY SAME ORIGINAL CAMERA. WHY? I need to buy TWO 100% same camera and made FAKE VIDEO?

I have a bit of trouble understanding your comment as there are random caps and bad grammar, but did you watch the video? I do show the video differences between the two cameras and in the description I do clarify that I am not 100% sure that it is a fake, since these are unbranded. Either way, this video's purpose is to show that there are different versions of these camera(s) and that they do perform differently. Small Edit: I remember why I call it a 'fake' in this video, I just checked the item description again for what I call the 'fake' and it claims to have a 140° Wide Angle Lens. As you can see in the video, the lens appears to be a normal 90° lens. Additionally, the outer part of the lens is plastic, not glass like the other one.
