I say at the least heavily restrict or outlaw the use of this technology before a viable solution is found. I'm not the one to say that a technology should be made illegal, but the demonstrated risks posed by this tech far outweighs the potential benefits.

What I'd like to know (though i don't want to find out) is if the portion of the population that mistakes actors for their TV characters, worships movie stars while knowing everything they've seen them in was a pre-scripted and calculated production, knows a news channel is skewed but still files what they hear as truth, will this type be simply driven to lashing out when they're shown someone saying something terrible, which was never actually said, but it looks so real that it's then classified as real by some people.

This is actually quite scary. Imagine this technology in capable pair of hands, and with mindset that wants to, say, create propaganda. There is already programs that can make speeches from persons voice samples as well. Also brings to my mind this movie "S1m0ne", where movie is created without living star, but with a very humanlike animated woman

If you back up your media to Google, checkout your Google Photos. I recently discovered that they have a search option for every "face" for people and animals in your photos at least, and you have the option to name them. I never organized this myself, they just magically gathered profiles of each of these people "for my convenience" and I've never asked for this. This is all already happening.

Could you re-create a video of someone committing a crime insert it into security camera footage and get somebody convicted of a crime they never committed all were never even near the scene will government get rid of dissidents by doing things like this

Ron Hahahaha this is the true reason for this technology. It will most certainly be used against us. Real soon "they" will control every aspect of our lives. You won't even be able to buy or sell without oversight. And if we get "out of line" a decision by an A.I. computer will be your fate. Its so easy to see where it's all headed.

It probably will be used for things like that. And good things like that guy intense that said most security footage is kind of shity in a good way they could just about make out of face so honestly you didn't need this Tech to fake this old security footage could be done very easily just a handful of Stills when it mattered. The more concerning thing to me is political and news faking major events in front of proper cameras where every wrinkle is visible and yet completely fabricated

Al Thompson I was actually working towards that of taking a political figure and producing a speech or a comment that he never made that good only damage is attempt at getting elected reelected or whatever or in a financial environment where a CEO could be seen saying we’re making some type of out rages statement when all of it was a fabricated video

There is still a possibility there is more than one because the question could be a lie, those you never limit yourself to one possibility, never let the question limit your answer.
