Falcon 7X Landing at Saanen-Gstaad Airport

The Falcon 7X takes you where others can't. Here, we fly into the challenging Saanen-Gstaad Airport in Switzerland. Located at an elevation of 3,307 feet (AMSL), its 3,570 foot runway is nestled between two hills, making the approach exceptionally challenging.

I dont think the reversing of the third engine is even allowed to be published as far as performance numbers go. The ability to do that makes this thing stop on a dime. Love this company.

That's what I call jumping on the brakes with full reverse thrust for a short full stop. You can't do that everyday.

Something about the intake s-duct of those #2 engines is really heritage to their philosophy. But the Falcon 7X seems to make it seem really executive. It's almost bewilderingly powerful.

Cela dépend du poids de l'avion... plus le poids de l'avions est élevé, plus la vitesse de décrochage est élevé !

The absolute minimum for a 737 (model, weight, Altitude and weather dependent) is around 3400ft. The other consideration is approach angle. For example London City Airport has a 5.5 degree approach to reduce noise and also due to high rise buildings, this is different to the standard of 3 to 3.5 degrees at most airports. The 7x and future 8x are the only large business jets to currently hold certification to use London City and in that respect the 7x/8x are unique in that they can access airports other business jets of the same class can't.

stachowi I know this airport and I know which type of approach they need to do :) At Saanen the approach is ONLY on VMC conditions and it's just a visual approach between moutains ... It's hard ;)

No, Runway is 1400 Meter with Mountains around. Not certified for large Airplanes.

Landing is good. But if I remember correctly, 7X's take-off distance is 1800 meters. How much fuel was on that plane when this was filmed? 100 liters? Or you took the risk and put 150? :-))

A Gulfstream G-V, first built in 1995, could handle that airport. No problem. Falcon -- only 20 years behind.

It's not the first Flacon to land there. Aeroleasing, a Geneva based company operating and selling Falcon's used to do it with the fabulous Falcon 50 trijet back in the 80' so 15 years before the G-V
