Nick Fox is a gentleman and expert falconer. He made me a stunning seamless (hidden stitches) hood when I visited him and his wife in New Zealand 1976. He was studying at a Christchurch university at the time. He had a couple of unique N.Z. Bush Falcons in training.

You kind of need a trained fighter pilot for these dog fights ... without that kind of experience and talent, the falcon will always win unless you just outrun it with brute speed so it just cannot catch up until its tired.
