I love you guys and your beautiful garden! I’m so happy that I found your channel. And let me say this…I appreciate so much that you are sharing all of your projects with us. I understand how challenging it must be! Working full time jobs, finding time to work in the garden, and then filming it is quite a feat!! But I am so grateful! I’m a new gardener and even though our garden zones are different, you have helped me to be successful in my endeavors! Thank you again! God bless! ❤

We’ve been fighting poke weed for ten years. This year when digging them out, we had some that had roots grew through a rock. After years of trying everything we found online to get rid of it, husband took a blow torch to all the berries. 😂 🤞

I cut my hostas back too( I have 50+). I didn’t used to but couldn’t handle the slimy leaves and they took much longer to thaw as the leaves always had spring ice under them. Even in zone 3 the bergenia is evergreen, don’t cut it back, it won’t like it! I’ve had mine bloom with a bit of snow still on the ground. I also take bamboo skewers and poke them in the ground where I’ve cut back any perennials. That way I know where they are in the spring. This prevents accidentally stepping on Hosta noses, if you do that they stay deformed. 🍂☺️🍁

Love the new rose support, I did wonder if something with a curved arch top would echo the walkway arch better. Feel like the square shape fights the curve of the large archway a bit. Something very satisfying about cleaning up the garden-hope of a fresh start next year maybe😊

Possibly! We do have some curved top arches....this one was available and we do love it. Next year the arch will be completely covered by the rose so the shape may not be too worrisome

Fall is my favorite time to work in the garden. A perfect time to edit the plants that thrived and failed. The hostas and daylilies really do need to be cut down before frost. Fall cleanup means getting close to your garden so if there are issues they can be taken care of.

I have such a hard time pulling annuals but this year I did it… well, with the exception of one pot with begonias I just couldn’t do. 😬. I just received my Brecks bulb order so I’ll get those planted as soon as it dries up a little. I’ve a little more mulching to do and then I’m done till spring. It’s always a little sad to put the gardens to bed but I have much to look forward to in the spring! You two are such fun to watch!

Starting my fall cleanup here in Z8 Alabama with my big planters. Sad to lose the salvia, petunias and euphorbia, but it is time for pansies and violas, leaving room to add some tulips after they chill in the fridge. Still getting beans and tomatoes so those will stay until frost in November. Lettuce, broccoli and collards in the ground. I'll be sowing carrot, beet and radish seeds this weekend. Love your garden.

Again, you guys are the antidote to the inertia that has to he overcome before doing the garden work. Do you have the autumn joy sedum on the drip? How often do you have to run your drip around the sedum on days where the high temp is >87 F? Last year was my first year of my garden in zone 5a. On my beds in the sun, I had to water for over an hour at least 3 times a week. I worry though about overwatering for drought tolerant plants like the autumn joy sedum. Just wondering what you have found the watering requirements to be from your experience. Thx
