In this video we have a Peterbilt/ E-Z Pack Apollo Rear Loader working the alleys of Barberton. I believe this is a 337, but please correct me if I am wrong. I have been wanting to film one of these dating back 2 years now, I first saw 1195 (a Hino/ Apollo) out there 2 years ago and then last year I saw 1231 (also a Pete) but had no luck. I guess the third time was the charm... I actually got lucky with this because they are now running this route with a 25 yard Freightliner/ Heil 5000 they bought from Premier (Buckeye State Solid Waste actually has footage of that truck and this crew working in Stow), but that truck was down for the day so they were given this.
This video itself was a little bit of an adventure, because when I first found them they had 2 stops left in that alley and were done downtown. I followed them over to an alley on the East side of town, and after two or three stops there the cart tipper blew a line. I went off to see what else I could find while it got repaired, and they were over working on a bunch of scattered stops. I waited for a while for them to hit the long alley I have filmed in dating back to the WM days, and got worried the went down again, but when I was about to give up they made it back over. Of course by that time, the sun was at the perfect position to mess with my camera. Thankfully the driver was super helpful in letting me know they were headed and about what time they would be over there. A big thanks to him and the helper for making this video possible, I hope you guys enjoy it! A shout-out to John for subscribing to my channel on the spot!
As far as the truck itself, It is very sharp looking and does the job well. It is a little bigger than the New Way Viper they were running out here before (1042), but definitely quicker. For being about 2-2.5 years old it is in pretty good shape.
