In this video we have an older Mack LEU/ McNeilus FEL collecting trash on a Friday morning in Richfield. I had been wanting to film one of these older carry cans they have for a minute, particularly this one because it has the corner mount tipper. Aside from their iconic Stand Up International/ McNeilus Tag Axle REL, this is what I think of when I think of a Rumpke truck. The Cleveland division only has 4 front loads left without Curotto's, and this was the lone remaining with a corner mount. I actually got lucky with this one because for a second I didn't think I was going to get the chance to film it- it had just came up a couple days prior from some major repairs. The driver had actually been using 84757 which I filmed this summer, and that driver had been driving an Autocar/ Heil with a Curotto that I have a video of to post at a later date. I was kind of assuming this driver may end up keeping 84757. I was really kicking myself because I swung by to look for this on the way back from filming 84757 that day, but by time I found it the last bucket was going in the hopper- literally.
The truck itself is decent for its age and still gets the job done. I do have to say, I am surprised this this route has not yet been Curotto'd... while it is still technically a "hand throw" route, you will see the vast majority of the residents have store bought carts and some choose to rent from Rumpke. I'm not going to complain, as traditional conventional carry cans with cart tippers are getting rarer by the day.
I am really happy with the way this video came out, the leaves in their peak made for a really nice backdrop. This was shot just outside of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. And when I say just outside- I mean it... I actually went for a walk in this allotment earlier this month while parked at one of the lots for the park. At the time I had no idea which day it went, but thought it would be neat to film in. By pure coincidence, I found the truck just pulling in here when I started to shoot.
A big thanks the the driver for making this video possible!!!
