I love your content sfm. It’s like a Sleep Token podcast from two intelligent fans who love Sleep Token. Both your insight into the lyrics and the lore is impressive. I wish I had someone to debate and discuss ST with. My adult son really likes the band but would rather listen to it and is sick of mom always talking about them. Fall For Me holds a huge place in my heart. Everything about this song from the lyrics, to the way it’s sung, to the video is so impactful. Vessel knows how to drag emotions out of the listeners by the way he sings, plays certain chords, and of course his incredible lyrics. Fall For Me hits you in the gut if you’re listening to properly and not just concentrating on the vocoder and the fact that it doesn’t have a knarly breakdown. The message is so much more important than that. I’m so impressed that you guys appreciate it for what it is and the message Vessel is trying to express. I think this song is one of his most personally written songs up there with Atlantic, DYWTYLM, High Water, and Are You Really Okay. Thank you for showing it the love it deserves.

This is it! The first video from you guys that popped up on my suggested videos! 😄I remember when I first saw it, too; I just came home from a particularly difficult night shift at the hospital, and I was so jumped up on adrenaline from the shift that I hopped on KZfaq at my desk to mindlessly scroll and watch a video for me to sleep to... but this only stirred me even more awake as I started thinking about the lore I've been trying so hard to turn away from (it's consumed my waking days for over a year now, I need a break) This song took a VERRRRYYYYY long time for me to get used to... simply because it's barely a song. This is just a poem to Sleep (sorry Sussan, I'm devout to this theory) that was filler for me to get to Alkaline. I love Sussan's take about the skies turning into glass as him being underwater! The whole theme of this album is water, so it does make more sense to me (sorry Dave). You both dissected this so beautifully, and I had no idea about the Death Metal Church Burnings until now! (thanks Dave!) But then I found out it has a music video. So I fell in love. The mv itself is so gorgeous; he's stumbling on barren sand (reality), finds his suicide letter and fumbles as he tries to piece it back together rather unsuccessfully, and keeps stumbling and falling but always getting back up repeatedly as he makes his way back to the depths of the ocean (dream/ Sleep). This is one of his most vulnerable moments; no instruments, no regalia, no mask.... just him. The only other time we see his face this much is in "Calcutta" from Two, and I have my own theories on that song... for another day! But even there, there were instruments involved. "Fall for Me" is his authenticity, his whole heart poured out for us to witness. Absolutely stunning. Lyric Dissection Time!: In a city of ice there are burning cathedrals Turning the skies into glass And though echoing futures are the buckling sutures That hold shut the wounds of the past - (If we look at each of the tracks, there's depth markers included with each track. For this track, the depth marker is 5464 M. The temperature at this depth is 0.80 C / 33.4 F. Water freezes at 32 F - I apologize for being American - so when he looks up while he's sinking further underwater, he can see frost forming above him as the "skies turn to glass". As for burning cathedrals, I think it's symbolic of him losing his previous faith/ truth completely and delving into Sleep's realm of reality. Burning his bridge with the past and diving into the water below. He can see a future of healing from this leap that will help stitch up his previous lacerations) So won't you fall for me? His own insecurities prowl around him, making him forget who he truly is. Not for long, however, because remembers that Sleep is always there - or at least she is in his own mind - when things are at their nadir for him.) He confesses that he wants to have the will to live again despite his past suicide attempt... but does he have her permission to?) I Just Can't Do This Any Longer - (no explanation required here. Hell, I say this all the damn time at any minor inconvenience, so I think this is the most relatable line in existence) I am afraid Are you afraid? - (Confession and inquiry. I also see this as a shift in discussion... I don't think he's talking to Sleep anymore. This feels like he turned to US now and is addressing US.) I want to understand What it is To let go - (He's admitting to us that he wants to know what it feels like to be free from his shackles, to ascend to another existence, to be liberated from his suffering.... eventually) So for now let me serve as a living drama of your pain - (GAH, WHEN I SAY I FUCKING LOVE THIS LINE!!! He'll get his ascension - haha - in due time.... but for now, let him bear the weight of our suffering, let him be the one nailed to the crucifix... Let him be our sacrifice. He truly is our Lord and Savior) If we are to be submerged let us be submerged Together The visual lyrics hit home for me on another level... as if the other songs weren't poetic enough. The admiration that I have for this man is borderline detrimental. I'm not even exaggerating when I say he takes up almost every single nook and cranny of my mind, this band and lore is pretty much all I think about now. This song was once my least fave, but today is placed at 12. So sorry for how long this is (I'm ashamed to disclose how long this took me to dissect and write down), but for how short and simple this track is, it feels like one of the heaviest hitting once you get into it. Thank you both so much for giving me a place to hurl my nonsense 🥲❤ P.S.: Kind of embarrassing confession here: for the LONGEST time, I thought the opening line was "In a set sea of eyes".... 🤦‍♀ I could not for the life of me understand what that meant. Back for more and last as usual lol. This is my first listen this. The fact that this... song if you can call it that has no music at all it's purely just modulated vocals and layered harmonies. It's short, sweet but impactful. I will admit it is quite repetitive but it's melodies are beautiful. This song is definitely an internal battle he's struggling with. I also would like more time with this song and I'd like to rewatch the video to get a deeper understanding. Love both your analysis as usua. I'll have to rate this song at 23, I like it but I need more time with it to grow on me further.... plus I'm slowly running outta room on the higher number.... also moving down levitate from 25 to 29.... I've re evaluated and I need more space lol Also the story about Mayhem freaks me tf out. I watched a video about it all a while ago.... it still gives me shivers
