Honestly, it's because he's not trying to communicate any larger information about the world. Even though his show is fundamentally comedic, he and his staff go to great lengths to research their stories thoroughly, and some of the humour gets drowned out because of the sheer volume of information they're trying to put out.

Mason Starling yeah I think the maximum attire is usually a towel.... The least being no skin... You may be kicked out if you lack skin, more accurately you will have a police escort you they will dress you in black take you to a police facility and they will have a professional cutter rip out your guts and inspect them. Spoiler alert a man with no skin is a dead man.

As someone raised to have a refined Charleston, SC accent, I relate so well. MIL has got my 2 little girls saying "paJAMas" (A as in ham) and it hurts me way down deep in my stomach. Jesus, it's "pa-jam-as" and it sounds like llamas so...you know, they wrote a children's book about it. She does it on purpose. She moved to the South 40 years ago. Get over it lady.

I'm Dutch and I absolutely hate the Americanisation of our language. America is só loud, in everything they do, all of their shit drifts towards our country. And so we have Halloween (which is allright, but kindof lame, since hardly anyone does anything with it and we usually celebrated the same, it was just called Sint Maarten and had little to do with fear and more to do with angels and lights.) And we have fastfood, (which is alright, because we know how to deal with it, we have bikes, we exercise.) And we have 'ipads/apple/merchandise-shit' (which is fine, but it's expensive and we're greedy, so the only ones that nonstop buy that shit are annoying rich-kids and even they don't impulsively buy that, they're Dutch, they love their money) But the TLC shit, the lame American tv-shows, the whole American Jersey-Shore kindof stuff..it's not cool. Their nasal pronunciation of everything, just drills in my brain, especially when they try to debate something stupid. Trumps vomit-like way of pronouncing words. Or the long silences in between words. The whining sounds in between talking. The 'Wrawrawraaww'-sounds when they speak. I mean, each time someone uses an American word in between a Dutch sentence, it's like they're smashing a greasy hamburger on a perfectly fine hagelslag-sandwich. Whý?! Dónt!

You know, I was thinking about how some people feel like Jimmy Fallon's laugh is fake, and I get it. But I was watching his body language in this clip, the way he watched John Oliver and instinctively emulated John's posture and reactions. Those are empathetic actions, putting yourself in another person's place and being able to feel what they feel. I think he has this nervous energy about him and since he knows the stories, he's anticipating the laughs already, but his emotion is genuine and it catches on. It can feel foreign how he's so easily excited, but there's nothing rehearsed about his reactions (quite the contrary, he often messes up and cracks up when he's not supposed to).

My point: I have NEVER, EVER watched this show just for Fallon since he got the gig. His guests help him look amazing and frankly his guests are better guests on better shows with better and interesting hosts to interview them.
