You forgot that you can pick pocket the minigun from one of the power armor soldiers before you turn off the mine field.

You can get a Chinese hat when you head left for the tanks if you want it for collecting

10mm Suppressed, Infiltrator, Perforator, and grenades work well with the stealth suit. As they don’t give you away when using. Just learned this today.

Btw the Gary bug still works and all I had to do was place the body like he is sitting down and at the end of the simulation, I looked down and spammed the E key and it opened Gary’s inventory. It took me a few load games to get the inventory open though. Thanks for the video and helping me out.

You do know you can get Jingwei's jumpsuit through reverse pickpocketing him with the extra winterized armor you can loot from the quartermaster's corpse. It has the greatest armor to weight ratio in Fallout. Period. Dr of 25 and I believe 3 lbs.

3 years later and still works just fine. after you drop all the ammo and pick it all up, drop it again since it drops in small containers. repeat process and sell all the extra for unlimited caps around the wasteland

Probably played this dlc 10+ times...... never once thought to drop my weapons to get multiple load outs.

Just a btw for anyone doing this on pc with the unofficial patch, it prevents you from dropping your weapons stuff for the quarter master exploit by marking them as quest items, i think it also prevents you from using gary to get the equipment out of the sim aswell. I even tried downloading a mod which removes quest tags from your items and it still wasnt working.

lol i had to quick save at the end of the simulation in order to get into garl's inventory i had to try at least 7/8 time to get those items ...ALSO THANKS FOR THE RUN. its a masterpiece.

fyi for my game if you drop 30k ar ammo it becomes negative rendering it usless so i suggest save often and make sure to drop it periodically to know whats your max cuz it might be different for others i hear ppl got 40k so test your luck ima aim for 30 k each. it seems impractical but i plan to have multiple companions and im tryna deck them out lol

Currently on PC and I’m unable to drop certain weapons however I’m still able to get unlimited ammo but only the 5.56 mm rounds

well done. I tried the drop gun/change gear trick and it worked like a charm and I ended up with all 4 kits. I tried the drop ammo and reload cheat and it also worked like a charm. Except After finishing Ice and Train, I got greedy and tried to drop and recharge ammo again. But when I dropped the 5.56 ammo (I had like 32,500 or so) I couldn't pick it back up again. I tried it 3 or 4 times loading saved games and it wouldn't work a second time so I guess the morale is Don't Be Greedy I saved just before killing the General to be able to reload about 8 times to get him to kill himself. I tried shooting the gun out of his hands but it would never work even with VATS. So after ten times or so getting killed I gave up. So after the General's speech and DISMISSED! It took me 6 or 8 attempts to press the to get into Gary's inventory. Most times the game wouldn't accept the keypress and continued on to the simulator opening. A few times the called up Gary's inventory and then the next ended the inventory and the simulator opened. After about 15 tries I got into the Inventory and started transferring stuff by clicking on the item and screwed up once because if there is >5 items then you get a submenu asking how many and so you have to press for all. But I clicked on an item I thought would need an but it didn't and when I pressed that ended the transfer after only 6 or 7 items. So I had to exit 3 or 4 more times to get the presses and presses just right. But you know what? It was worth it. Ended up being level 6 with all this great undestroyable gear and a shittonne of ammo. BUT I only got 5 holo tapes and 8 suitcases so tomorrow I have to do it all over again. This is how much fun you can have with a 12 year old game :) PS: I'm 72 yo and holding my fingers in the WASD position all day long can get a bit crampy but: No pain, No gain.

Also, I did get all 10 intel briefcases and all 6 holotapes but was not notified of any extra perks and tested that Science, Lockpick and Repair stats did not change after I got all the items, after I killed the General, or after I exited the simulator. (Apparently that is a thing where you complete the quest but nothing happens)

I wish I watched this video before going through Operation Anchorage. I simply could not figure out how exactly I needed to position the body. Some guides say that you need to look down at the body, but that seems to be completely wrong. Also, unsure if this is a PC thing, but my gear gets replaced SO FAST. I'm not even certain it's possible on PC versions now.

Amazing, but my Assault Rifle rounds bugged, i have a negative number, and when i use one it says i have no bullets, in my inventory I don't have non, and using the ammo box doesn't give me non either. Maybe I over did it? Edit: Ok i fixed it, i dropped everything (ammo too), changed gear to one that gives you an assault rifle and i gave me a bit of ammo and it unbugged

For anyone thats on PC and is unable to drop the weapons if you have the tweaks mod all you need to do is enable “drop equipped weapon key” make this whatever key you want. At this point what ever weapon you are holding you can drop by pressing the key you set it to. This is slightly slower but it gets the job done. I tried looking for mods to be able to drop quest items but the only one I found was a one from around 2011 which didn’t work. Hope this helped.

To anyone still playing this and doing the ammo duplication glitch, be careful. I don’t know how it happened but I might’ve accidentally generated too much rifle ammo and it went into negative numbers. It being negative numbers means you will probably be unable to regain any ammo ever again so be careful, had to do the entire glitch again but generated slightly less ammo just in case.

There is also a way to get unlimited ammo from the ammo dispenser.

Was about to lose my mind cause i thought I had to do everything again cause gary wasn't working lol. Try looking around in different directions. Down and slightly left worked while spamming A in loading screen. Great guide.

Played on backwards compatible next gen I believe it may have been fixed had Gary’s body perfectly positioned but as soon as you end the simulation it just kicks you out the pod before the animation so I couldn’t get the gear tried multiple times

Loved this video, BUT it is no longer viable for me or anyone playing on the latest (2024) unofficial patch (or TTW from what I have read online). During the simulation, I can NOT drop weapons to change the packages and end up keeping all of them because they are now considered quest items and cannot be dropped. This is as of June 2024. One player on another video stated you can uninstall the unofficial patch BEFORE putting Gary in the pod, run the anchorage sim as usual, then reinstall the patch just before opening the vault. I do not know if that will work, but I am currently trying. I hope it works this time. I tried to uninstall just before getting the weapons from the quartermaster, and he would not talk to me at all. So I restarted the sim. UPDATE: Uninstalling the updated unofficial patch worked (but it broke some things like Haleys ability to repair to 100% and a few other things while the patch is not installed). I was able to get all available weapons and lots of ammo. HOWEVER, When I reinstalled the patch just before opening the vault, the patch is again blocking me from being able to remove any of the weapons to put them into a locker in my house. They are again considered "quest items" due to the patch. I DID however find a working fix for pc users...... console command SetQuestObject 0 removes the items "quest item" status. It keeps its stats and unbreakability, and allows for the items to be removed and put into a locker. So, this was a long drawn out post, but it worked and I am able to keep the unofficial patch in place. Thank you for the video, it made a great tutorial!

For anyone doing this now and having the idea to pick up and drop ammo periodically so it's less entities--do NOT drop more than 30,000 ammo. In doing so, once you pick up the ammo, it will become unusable. Drop smaller stacks and you'll be fine, have fun exploiting!

That thing of moving gary around was driving me crazy, took me at least 40 minutes untill i managed to put him on Doggystyle, dunno how many times i heard the scribe girl saying comments to me when i was screwing around with Gary, dunno how many times i killed the outcasts dudes, but finally managed to get everything right, damn, it was worth the effort anyways. Edit: Everything went well on Xbox 360 i also managed to get the chinese assault rifle by doing reverse pickpocketing, i knocked One of the chinese with the Gauss rifle (shooted at his gun but he didn't drop it) when he was down I stole his 5.56 ammo with pickpocketing, had to move fast and gave him a 10mm pistol and 1 bullet for it, i knocked him down again shooting at the 10mm he equipped and pickpocketed again and took the assault rifle. Took a few attemps for the rifle but i managed so yeah, it is possible.

You can get as many packages as you want. i now have 7 combat shotguns
