Didn't know these two existed and I've played a ton of fallout 3

I've only encountered Warrick once. And then never again. And I never met Radford.

I always encounter warrick and think “who the fuck is this guy”

Sam spawns when you steal from the rock behind Megaton, he's the S in the note.

I've only I counted Sam once and I remember him sending me flying into a blind rage for reasons I don't remember. But I do remember killing him and beating his corpse with a sledgehammer for a few minutes before stealing his glasses for myself.

“Minding your own business in the capital wasteland you might suddenly find yourself under attack.” Period. Could’ve ended the short right there.

Sam I would see almost every single playthrough. Lazlo? Never seen him once.

Played a lot of 3... If I DID run into them they didn't leave an impression...

Fun fact Absolom is programmed to level with the player so at any level he’s a tough fight too bad during my current playthrough he met his end via my Railway Rifle

Sam was probably just mad because i stole his stuff, maybe he should stash it in a location the internet won't find next time

Ran into them, but hardly noticed. Winterized T51 and Gauss rifle kinda made the encounter unfair 😅

I've probably played and beaten Fallout 3 like 15-20 times, and I have never encountered either of them before.

Honestly probably just raiders/morally dubious survivors - one's a sniper, the other's a knack with a workbench, and they use their skills to take what they want.

I put so many hours into fallout three and don't remember this at all.

Imagine walking around without having saved for like an hour just to get domed by Colonel Sanders.

Among the reasons why I spam the VATS button every other minute in the wasteland like a radar. Them and deathclaws.

This explains about 10 random deaths I had in Fallout 3 that I could contribute absolutely nothing to outside of a random bug. I've never seen these guys but I've absolutely ran into them.

I run into Sam every single F3 playthrough, but I've never seen the other guy, and the Railway Rifle is one of my favorite weapons to use.

Perhaps there is a secret Big Game Hunter faction that hunts people. Sam Warrick may be the "S" who hid the "gift from your grandma" in the hollowed-out rock for "E". Sam Warrick - "S" Lazlo Radford - "L" Unknown - "E"

No joke I was attacked by Sam shortly after leaving the Vault. I was making my way to the Bethesda ruins and he caught me outside. He was the reason I got my first sniper on my first save which I used throughout my play through. Every time I would start a new game I would go to the ruins straight after the Vault but never found him again.

Hunts you down because you found a way to acquire a new weapon “the right to bear arms shall not be infringed”

It socks to have the engine limitations to allow such exotic random encounters happening. Given the abysmal render distance of Fallout GameBryo/Creation Engine sniper rifles are generally mid to close range weapons. This is why scopes zoom so little and work as optic sights.

Oh yeah, Sam...I remember him. That encounter went kinda like the intro to the Terminator movies: "I need your sniper rifle, your leather armor, and your shades" 😎

I love how Fallout 1 and 2 music is still the most postapo haunting thing to hear.

I always encounter Warrick but I’ve never encountered Lazlo even though I make it my mission to get railway rifle schematics. My favourite buildable gun in Fallout 3

These guys literally approached me my first ever game of fallout 3 right outside megaton in early game. Fair to say I had to reload a save and go another way

I assume the idea is they're snipers with very few morals, killing people from a distance to then loot their stuff

Of the like 7 playthroughs i did, i only ever encountered them twice. The one time was in Minefield, and it didn't end up working in their favor

Must be an extremely rare encounter because I've spent hundreds of hours and countless playthroughs, and I've never encountered either.

Can't say i've come across Either of these encounters. And i got Hundreds of hours in both.

Its fascinating how Random Encounters can make the gameplay unique to each individual player. Sucu as how everyone in the comments has a different experience. Some only saw one and rarely, some only saw one but constantly. Some saw both constantly or once, or never met any of them at all.

This is why you save often

I remember going to Minefield and nearly losing my head to the old men there. Then of course because I was a teenager that liked Saving Private Ryan I run into a nearby rubble mound while juking mines, crouch down and pull out my own sniper rifle and counter-sniping began.

Love seeing Sam, it’s the only way to get sunglasses in F3

I have encountered Warrick a few times, mostly him hunting someone else, I typically find him near a metro. I have never encountered Lazzlo though, and I've gotten the Railway rifle plenty of times. I've done at least over a dozen playthrough's of this game, i am ELATED that I can still learn new bits about it.

First time I ran into Talon Company the thing they say didn’t make any sense. It was only later I learned it was supposed to be the inverse of what the Regulators say. 😅

I have played through FO3 probably 5 different times and have never run into these guys, that’s wild

I never fought the sniper in fallout 4

On my VERY first playthrough I ever had in Fallout 3 I ran into Sam RIGHT outside vault 101, took me about 5 tries but finally beat him by blowing up the tiny one seater car on the road right in front of the vault, had me thinking for the Longest time that he was just ALWAYS in front of the vault and when I made a new character some time later i came out of vault 101 expecting to fight for my life only to find something mundane like a bloatfly or stray brhramin 😅

They were fun to loot after they failed to kill me

One time I encountered both Sam and Talon company and a fairly big battle erupted from that got a lot of great loot at level 3

I've been playing fallout 3 for years......never even heard the name Lazlo

1st time playing FO3 and Warrick got me on the way to SuperDuper Mart and I never ran in to him again on any other play through

I would say, although Arkansas is not actively hunting you, he kind of is a mysterious sniper just guarding Minefield

I've been playing FO3 since the very same day of the release, across dozens of different playthroughs. ...And I never found those guys! Might as well give it another shot to find them.

To be fair you can always have enemies in fallout games, so it wouldn’t be too far fetched if one of them hired them

Absolam is actually an individual from The Bible. He's a Knifer. Someone with skill in using one as a weapon. Short version, he's a high- ranking individual whose sister was violated in an Adult manner. Swearing revenge on the man who did so, he came up with a cunning plan to eliminate him. And, he did. Doing so caused problems for him though. What happened to his sister was particularly messed up as, as soon as she realized what was about to happen.... She offered herself to her attacker, willingly. Stating that he'd have to marry her first, but once he did; she would submit to him and do whatever he told her to. Instead, he carried on with his defilement of her.

I've gotten shot at when exiting point lookout lighthouse, but I never found the sniper, I'm kinda worried

The railway rifles low condition reload action timed so perfectly with his qoute , I'm legit mindblown at how accidentally cinematic that was .

I am playing the game as in now and last week I found Sam, but he was already dead, kill by super mutants

Might be a reference to the DC sniper attacks tbth. It was 2 guys who sniped people in cars in the DC area, where Bethesda studios is.

Man, i love Warrick's encounter. At low level he's quite tough and interesting enemy to fight against, and, after all, you'll get cool sunglasses and sniper riffle after defeating him.

I guess some people never got to the point or ever fully understand the game. If you were to ever hack the terminal in megaton at the bar that guy's gonna chase you all the way and make you pay.

Running into Sam Warwick is incredibly rare at least in my playthroughs. I've gotten the firelance much more than I'm encountered him

I remember watching a rare encounter video as a kid and then immediately running into Uncle Leo. I was so damn hyped.

I completely forgot about these guys I've run into them on so many playthroughs but I just always took them as Random Encounters I even used to use the sniper guy to get the sniper rifle early.

According to the FO3 game guide, Sam is hunting people and creatues looking for caps so he can visit Madame, a brothel owner in Evergreen Mills

Haven't ran into these to my knowledge, but I have everyone else chasing me. Hitman, Town company, regulators

Sadly there's no such thing as actual snipers in Bethesda Fallout games, a NPC with a sniper rifle has the same vision cone as one with a baseball bat and as soon as they lose sight they charge closer.

It’s always neat to me how an otherwise inconsequential character is actually given a name. Like, they could have easily branded them “Mercenary” or “Mysterious Assassin” or something like that but the game actually has names for characters you may never even meet. Helps the world feel more alive, like a place that existed before you stepped into it.

I can't ever remember running into these guys but then again it's easy to slaughter a random npc and not think twice

Glad to know those assassin dudes showed up for a reason and it wasn't just the one guy in megaton pissed I disarmed the bomb.

"Have you run into these two travelers," I have, and I had no idea they were sent to specifically target me. In all of my playthroughs, I ran right over them to whatever oddity I was chasing at the time

Thank God, it finally makes sense! I played Fallout 3 a few times and just collapsed dead after hearing a shot, but never saw anyone and when I reloaded my save, it didn't repeat in the same area or way again.

I've always moved carefully and used the terrain strategically. Sam has never got the drop on me.

In 4, i was a few blocks away from Diamond City, and i turn a corner and see a dude walking down the road toward me, who i mistook as a city guard until i got closer. His name was Gruel and he turned hostile at about 10 feet away

My friend and I in like 6th grade did a fallout 3 playthrough together, switching off the controller every hour. I remember the first time Warrick was coming after us, we were so confused and upset bc he looked so cool 😅 we kept loading a previous save to see if we could make him un-hostile so we could talk to him.

In my modded TTW playtrough I thought it was a random bandit and killed Warrick before he even see me lmao.

I think there’s some quest suggestion in the fallout ttrpg, it’s like, the group sees an expert assassins end someone, and now they’re hunting the group. Or something like that

I hope they come out with a mod that gives Sam a Colonel Sanders outfit re-texture because I can't get this image of them looking similar out of my head.

Sam died to a random Enclave soldier not far from Megaton very early in the game. Laszlo took a long range bullet to the head for wandering around the Oasis at night very late in the game.

I think the original idea behind Sam was he was meant to be a Enclave hired assassin atter your father. He apparently has a common spawn point during the part of the main story where you escort your dad back to Rivet City.

I just ran into Radford outside a Metro station in my current TTW run... Didn't know he was a base game find.

I found Sam recently right under Raven rock entrance in the mirelurk/raider valley, dead. Lászlo tried to kill me east from Raven rock again, at that highway, encountered him 14 years ago and never again.

Ive always encountered sam on the same bridge every playthrough right after a raider ambush next to a trapped building

I had a bug where one of the vendors from rivet city managed to somehow leave his post and started wandering aimlessly around the wasteland. I kept getting random messages of him going unconscious, then one time near the citadel I saw him getting pretty much spawn camped by Sam. He was knocking him unconscious, then wait until he woke up and knocked him down again

Absalom was how i got my silenced 50 cal hunting rifle in my last playthrough, only mod i had to change was the magazine

Yea on two of my playthroughs,I've encountered Sam Warrick but never encountered Laslow before. I remember reading that Sam wìll eventually respawn again after a little while

Well that explains why my head suddenly exploded when I was playing one day. Those jerks cost me over an hour of progress.

Met all three fun encounters imo it just feels good to know these guys are in the game

If i have meet these guys they were to non-note worthy to remember
