I'm so excited to be playing another Fallout game with all of you! :) Quick little read for you if you have time: -This video was copyright claimed because of the Main Menu Theme of all things so I had to remove that music and I am eternally sorry about that. I am disputing the claims and if I am able to win my case I will unlist this video and replace it with the original version which contains the music because the music is great. -My recording software did an oopsy while recording this video and switched encoder settings meaning there's a gigantic quality drop around the middle and I'm eternally sorry for this too. I don't know how this even happened but I'll have that fixed for Episode 2. -Lastly I love you and hope you have a good day.

"There's clipboards, coffee cups... trash that I don't need." Oh the joys of blind playthroughs before you realize the infinite value of scrapping literally EVERYTHING. Fallout 4's loot system has made me compulsively loot everything, even in the older Fallout games.

You know, the intro is way more emotional from the female character's POV. You can really hear the fear and rage in Nate's voice when they take Shaun, and the grief in hers when she opens his pod.

The dialogue in this one is definitely clunkier than the previous games with the odd decision to make a vague wheel. I know you like to keep it vanilla, but there is a mod to restore conversations to how they were in the older games, showing you fully what your character will say. Hope you enjoy the playthrough!

I know you said at the beginning of the video that you like your first play-through of a game to be as close to the original as possible, but I really recommend the Full Dialog Interface mod. It just brings back the ability to see what dialog option you’re choosing like in the previous games. Fallout 4 has some bad preview snippets, so you might pick snarky/sarcastic, and wind up full asshole by mistake. Other than that, it doesn’t affect gameplay, just prevents the game from making you speak differently than you intend to.

I've made several playthroughs of FO4. The one moment that gets me everytime is when you first rise from the Vault. The world of Fallout 4 is there for you to explore, all unknown. Same feeling when exiting the cave of Helgen in Skyrim. Bethesda is fully aware of these moments and designs them for full dramatic effect. Todd Howard has stated there will be two such moments in Starfield.

That loading screen got us all. Its ok. :) After years, that intro still gives me chills.

Either Missie's gonna love this game or she's gonna be completely disappointed. Here's hoping for love.

I don’t know if anyone has pointed this out but the amazing part about the opening is that it’s not live action. You can find some colored versions of it on KZfaq and can tell it’s CGI. Its still amazing that they were able to fool so many of us into thinking it was live action though.

There's a mod for replacing the dialogue wheel with the original dialogue boxes from 3 and NV, you aren't the only one who isn't a fan of it. Nice to see you finally start this playthrough!

So excited for this! Fallout 4 was the first game I played in the series - I didn't have access to video games growing up so I bought a ps4 as an adult and got a load of games completely on a whim, this being one of them. I had NO idea what to expect beyond knowing it was post-apocalyptic. Didn't really know what an RPG was, struggled with a lot of the mechanics. Got a few missions in and ended up completely overwhelmed and gave up for a couple of years. Cut to today and I've completed it multiple times along with FO3 and New Vegas, and I'm just about to start 1 & 2. Can't wait to see what paths you take along the way!

48:18 Here's a fun fact. All of those "initials" are actually console commands. Don't use QQQ unless you've already made a save (manual save and quicksave, just to be safe). QQQ closes the game without having to go through the main menu. It's safe to use as far as I know (I use it all the time) but I always make two saves beforehand.

I binged your entire Fallout 3 and New Vegas series over the course of like 2 weeks, I was watching like 9-10 episodes a day. As a result, I got used to all the episodes just being there ready to watch whenever I wanted 🤣 So it’s gonna be tough waiting for these to be released episodically lol. But, I’m thankful you’re back and beyond excited for this playthrough. Needless to say, I’ve been waiting eagerly for this 😃 Now let’s go visit our old friends, Monorail, and Whiskey Shakes Jr.

If you get tired of that terrible dialog wheel, there's a mod that changes it to the menu from the old games where you can actually read what your character is gonna say before you choose the option. Doesn't change any of the dialog or anything, just brings it more in line with the previous games.

You’re calm and talk clearly, you’re naturally curious and excited, and you take the time to explore and read (some) terminal entries,it all makes for a very enjoyable watch. Welcome back Missie. Some non-spoiler things you may want to think about: 1. Turning subtitles on. That's in Settings, Audio, if I recall correctly. 2. Under the Display settings you can actually change the color of your HUD and the color of your Pipboy screen, and by extension, Pipboy light. 3. In the Pipboy, you can hotkey just about anything by hitting Q then whatever number you want it on. They start you with the baton on 3, gun on 4, and stimmies on 0. 4. You may want to look into a mod that re-enables achievements, cuz they're a thing. Once again, welcome back [b^-^]b

Little tip for you, if you want to mod your weapons in the future, you're gonna want to put levels into intelligence in order to unlock the Gun Nut perk. It's a life saver later on

Welcome back! I'm so glad you are starting a new series. There is one more mod that you need to get that doesn't change the vanilla experience. It's the Full Dialogue Interface mod that changes the dialogue options to what your character is actually going to say, not just a vague choice that you don't actually know what your response will be. Also, feral ghouls will run and leap at you, so be careful. I can't wait for the next episode.

Nice to see you back you'll find that "junk" is far more useful in this game than the other fallout games.

I appreciate the fact you don't stop to figure out the game details during exploration and combat, because yeah your having fun. You can figure out that later (usually when you get killed) it will be interesting to see your approach to base building, which is my favorite aspect to this game. Makes you feel like your saving humanity while liberating the deadly enemies around from living.

I have watched quite a few FO4 lets plays, not sure how this one slipped under the radar, but it's already one of my favorites. Welcome back! Some (not-so-)quick reacts, notes & things-you-missed’s: 20:30 Did that mobile music sound familiar? Maybe remind you of some other bucolic American suburb setting? 😉 22:51 You tried to delete all the copyrighted music from the game files, then turned off the radio just to be safe … and then you turn on the music player and leave it running. Oh, Missie. 23:23 Yeah, Fo4’s new abbreviated dialogue wheel wasn’t a big hit. I know you wanna keep mods to a minimum, but I really do recommend you get the Full Dialogue Interface mod. It changes nothing about the spoken lines or gameplay; it just restores a Fo3/F:NV-style dialogue box showing the full dialogue options, so that you don’t accidentally say something other than what you wanted to say, which _does_ sometimes happen with Fo4’s vanilla truncated dialogue wheel. You can also see what the ever-so-informative “Sarcastic” dialogue choice actually says. (Pro tip: Try that sarcasm option now and again. It sometimes gets you some really funny lines and reactions.) A general suggestion: Could you maybe turn on subtitles? Makes understanding what characters are saying (especially NPCs around you who don’t always talk very clearly) much easier. Hard-of-hearing viewers would probably appreciate it too. Another suggestion: You can turn off the dialogue cam if you want. In fact, I recommend it; that way you can choose where you look (such as keeping an eye around you) whilst the convo proceeds, so that you don’t get snuck up on by some enemy whilst you talk … which, because Fo4’s dialogue system is dynamic (the world doesn’t freeze around you), can and WILL happen. 42:45 - Pro tip: Rather than wait for terminal text to slowly unfurl across the screen, you can click it to skip the animation and make it all display instantly. Saves a lot of time in the long run. (For future playthroughs, there are mods to speed up or skip the terminal text loading animation altogether.) 46:30 - Missed this terminal, as well as the Stimpak next to it. 51:10 - Bathroom mirrors are containers! Always take a look at them to see if there’s some goodies inside. General note: I think you missed the tip pop-up, but you can use any equipped gun as a melee weapon! Just press (don’t hold) Left Alt to swing your gun/rifle/etc. for a pistol-whip. Helps save on ammo with weaker enemies that aren’t worth the bullets, and it’s also a bit quieter. Also, holding Left Alt whilst using a melee weapon lets you charge up an extra-strong melee attack. However, make sure you don’t have any grenades selected first, or else you won’t be throwing quite the hit you were expecting … 1:05:38 - Try playing with the VATS key on the loading screens, and also click & drag with your mouse. 😉 I do love your custom ending screens. 😊 Already looking forward to the next episode. So good to have these to look forward to again. PS - You can return to Vault 111 anytime you want. Just look around for the door elevator controls.

Yeah the music removal was a deal breaker for me. This game is all about immersion and the radio stations are a big part of that. Not to mention they change as events happen. Such a shame copyright laws are so old and out of date.
