Also you can actually make meaningful changes to both characters since if you modify both of them in character create the changes go through to the first part of the game

@@Br0ken_Rob0ts Honestly, for this reason alone, Bethesda should've made the Sole Survivor be the Sole Survivors, plural! Otherwise it just seems a waste of being able to customize both characters at the start. The main plot wouldn't really change but it would add a bit more personality to both characters depending on our choices. Like you could stay faithful to your spouse or cheat and eventually divorce for another character (then there's the R34 fanfics where monogamy takes a holiday). They could even swing it where certain dialogue choices in specific conversations can help shape the spouse's personality in the post-war world. Like after confronting Kellogg, you could talk to the spouse and they would mirror your reactions. They could even, eventually ask about specific factions and your reactions would determine how they treat quests for those factions. One final thought, the Silver Shroud Quests could be tweaked so that you're teamed up as the Shroud and/or Mistress of Mystery and the spouse would begin speaking as their character while having the costume equipped.

i also feel i should mention, back in older times it was also typical to refer to your father politely as sir, and since he's clearly based on old british butlers, he fits in that time frame. so essentially codsworth looks at nate and nora as his parents which is the most loveable thing ever

@@tugalordI do this with my play through, the ending from the minuteman is just more my vibe as the railroad one xD it is fun to get all the settlers on the side of minuteman while helping a little bit the brotherhood for honoring Nora’s man and not discovered the railroad entrance yet 😂 it just don’t care less about the railroad xD

​@@sombodythatyouusedtoknow9046except when a mod doesn't make sense, or ties the story together in a way that would make sense. i know this game has plenty of cut content, but the part about the spouse surviving, unfortunately that was not cut content. which is why the Nora Companion wip has several lines of dialog that you'll often hear when you play as her.

@@itdobelikedattho8112 honestly, if the player finds the game too easy with a companion and dogmeat, then they can either alter the difficulty settings, or they could just, not bring both dogmeat and a humanoid companion. The real issue here is the lack of an alternative to dogmeat, maybe some ranged supportive alternative to dogmeat’s melee disruption shenanigans, but that obviously was never ever considered by Bethesda because they shot anyone who even had a remotely interesting idea, including the guy who suggested the lazer musket have infinite ammo because the crank is obviously a power generator and it would make no fucking sense as to how a fusion cell would even be loaded into the damn thing.

@@itdobelikedattho8112 P.S. its the lone wander perk that makes dogmeat so OP in vanilla fallout, because he’s the only “companion” that doesn’t activate that overtuned AF perk. The attack dog perk effects are just a neat bonus in comparison to the sheer strength of lone wanderer. Obviously, having dogmeat and another companion will deactivate lone wanderer, making only the meager bonuses of attack dog remain. That’s the long and short of why I don’t personally see dogmeat as an OP companion that demanded to be a primary companion instead of a secondary companion. Also, we all know that Bethesda probably didn’t even care about difficulty preservation when making that last minute change, they were probably just overreacting to how much space two companions take up in indoor areas. (Sometimes three depending on the quest.)

Vault 81 for example reacts to your companions as what of her friend and her dog. (If you got dog meat and some others with you) so it was clearly intended at one point

I wish the base story was along those lines. I would imagine scientists would prefer as many "backups" as they could manage, and killing the spouse for shock value was kinda stupid in hindsight.

Good question, I think it’s because the way the mod works is that it just makes Nora’s body invisible in the cryo pod. I took the ring and gave it back to her after finding her though

My headcanon is that it fell off her hand in the chaos of her getting shot, and she made her way out of the Vault knowing Nate would be fine for a while, as she needed to heal from A LITERAL GUNSHOT WOUND POINT BLANK!!!! She relock the vault to ensure her husband's safety.

I saw a mod for that amazing companions I believe. It has Currie revive her and you need to get her memory back as well.

I mean, they WERE cryo-preserved for all those years, so they still basically got frozen in time until the pods failed.

I guess everyone stinks, so no-one mentions it.

Good question, I don’t see anything in the mod description about compatibility with other languages so it probably won’t work but you can try to see if it works

@@origengaming4968 A lot of the voice lines are about them both surviving, though. Codsworth also talks about them both being alive. I looked into the mod and apparently they did get some of the main cast for the mod.

I heard it was a cut content where you would find a serum to bring her back to life that’s why they have voice lines for them being alive together

But now thinking about it the dialogues seem to be reused from some quests im just not watching the whole video

they had to have re used some of the base game lines
