Took me forever to figure out a "Eh that works" way of doing this settlement. Anyways, wanted to say I love your videos, I watch all of them AND it's awesome that you specifically are on PS4 instead of PC like 90% of people that do these videos are. It doesn't make a huge difference but it saves me the time of having to wonder if it'll work or not when I try it on PS4. Great job! Easy to understand! Settlement building added an extra 200+ hours in Fallout in my opinion. Haha. Keep up the good work man!!!

I *THINK* The "Rug Glitch" is hard-coded into the building mechanics of the game, as Bethesda coded objects to "clip" to others, even if no snapping is involved. let me explain: Basically, the "Rug Glitch" (Or for a better term, the "Rug Method") is using the core building mechanics of Fallout 4. Basically, how it works is the game's engine detects what is selected in Build Mode and applies its collision mesh (hitbox) and not whatever is attached to it. This allows Davey to place the junk fences inside the walls at 6:27. The game itself is registering the collision mesh of the rug at ground level, but not the second rug or Junk Fence. Because of the way the game itself is programmed, Bethesda would need to completely rework the mechanics of Build Mode, or even completely change the game's engine, which would either be impossible or extremely difficult. To sum it up, as much of "Fun Policing" Bethesda does (Such as patching the Dogmeat Dupe Glitch and Vendor Ammo/Caps Glitch), they could NEVER remove the Rug Method, or at least they would have a very difficult time, and the update would probably be bigger than the core game (Which, as a rough estimate, would probably be 20gb or close to). The update to remove the Rug Method would likely be around 30GB or 35GB, as Build Mode would have to be completely recoded and chances are Creation Engine would be replaced with a different engine (Such as, yech, Gamebryo) so to sum it up, Removal of the Rug Method would be more trouble than it's worth, and despite Bethesda being almost as much of the Fun Police as EA when it comes to patching useful and funny glitches, It is never going to happen. Let's hope. Is it bad that I doubt myself? If I missed something or explained it completely wrong, feel free to add in or even explain it better (Which most definitely needs to be done.) Also, any tips for making paragraphs in KZfaq? When I try to do it, it deletes my carefully placed ENTERs, SPACEs and TAB does not do anything (Except switch from "Post a reply" to "Cancel" to "Post" to the comment section below.

Great idea, really like it. The junk fence looks pretty dapper too. The only thing I wasn't so keen on was using two of the little towers with the barn tops, makes the whole thing look a little too symmetrical? Although we haven't seen part two yet so, I'll be patient. Great work as always though 👍🏼

The two roof cupola things with the lanterns gave me the idea to put multiple around the place using both the short and tall wooden poles

I actually think I liked when the fences were clipping more. It made the posts look more like structural elements if that makes sense. Anyways I'm really liking where this build is going. Totally gonna steal that guard post idea. Don't know how I hadn't thought of it before haha

@norespawn I just found this cool little trick. If you put down the grated floors from far harbour on a elevated platform then put the second shack bridge under it, the wood from the shack bridge clips through just a little bit. It looks really cool if you didn't know about this, try it!

Amazing build! I usually build for Sims 4 but in Fallout 4 I get lazy and use concrete, now seeing this I think I can build much better thanks to your Tips. Thank you for enlightening me that interesting builds can look good even at this terrible plot.

I've manager to get a fire barrel into one of those coop things, but there's only the tiniest amount of space you can get it in right so it takes a lot of patience.

I always focus on the barn area with the workshop and the corners of the settlement. I mean this turns out as well as you predicted in the beginning of the video.

With regards to the posts and the floors clipping to only one side, they have a "facing". I usually have a floor already in place when I run into the issue so I just spin the post until it clicks. Awesome vidyas

My fav place to build, played this like 5 different times.

The FitnessGram Pacer Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The 20 meter pacer test will begin in 30 seconds. Line up at the start. Could you have a go at building a small one-person watch tower (that works with a settler)? A simple, stand-alone design that you could put around the perimeter of larger settlements. I'm having problems with the stairs making it look more like a small house on stilts instead of a neat and narrow watch tower. I'm interested to see what you would come up with.

Mine won't use them at all, they can only climb the basic wooden staff. I like how these new look and also that they have railings, so I just used them everywhere before I noticed that no one is able to get there. (and my English sucks as always, sorry, i know it). Also, I don't recall you doing Abernathy farm, are you planning to show it at some point?

I would say, dont worry about the length to much. The quality is still there. I honestly prefer the live builds with you. I dont like the sped up commentary ones as much.

I think the symmetry of the dual lighthouse columns looks a bit off. Maybe just use one and add a funky little tower on the other side?

THERE'S A CAVE? How the hell did I miss that? Also, you can totally fit a barrel in there. I did a dock similar to yours, and got one in. It's fiddly, though, there's ONE spot they'll sit properly. It's a nice effect if you can manage it, though.

No Fog mod! There is a mod that makes the weather always clear. Unless you are trying to do it with no mods at all.

I really wish the barn textures matched the wooden stuff we already had. The barn stuff is just so... gray.

I don't think they can patch the rug 'glitch' as it's actually an exploit...to do so would break the games clipping mechanics.

I know you like that pre fab, but I just feel dirty every time I use prefabs... Or even metal, to a lesser extent.
