Complete non-violence, including not defending yourself is called Stoicism, you just take it in hopes that the other party understands your point or gives up.

Yeah, I far prefer when “enemies” have a certain threshold, or multiple on different axes, that they consider before picking a fight. Things like: -does this guy have something I want? -do I think I can win? -is he a threat? The best way to make a world feel big is not always to make a big map with lots of quests. It’s to make it so that the things you CAN interact with have depth

Definitely should have. Sure, some raiders are too hopped up on chems to tell how stupid that is, but also if you start wiping raider gangs off the map e.g. you're a high level, that should have an effect anyway on the morale of raiders and potentially other factions you face.

@@VaultArchive72I may be wrong, I haven’t used that perk in a while but that perk only works on individual people and turns all nearby NPCs hostile, and that means they can’t be intimidated if they witnessed their friend get intimidated already.

@spinnyspins9135 of course, the SS doesn't know that. To everyone else in the commonwealth, if you're not explicitly trying to trade while also speaking English, they're gonna think you're a raider.

it's a damn shame that you can only either avoid meeting them or murder them, without having the option to at least try communicating with them hell, maybe they could sell a unique (and i mean actually unique not fallout 4 unique) weapon that can *only* be found there maybe it could be something related to fishing that was made or jury rigged by the sailors, an old viking axe that was supposed to be delivered to a museum before the war or a weapon that was made in that country

The way people are complaining that you can't avoid killing them I was beginning to think I imagined the pacify mechanic in the game.

​@@VaultArchive72pacify is far from a 100% chance tho. And you only get one attempt per enemy. Plus they wont atay passive, eventually they'll become hostile again. That is, of course, without mods. I like to use the CROSS ruger mkv tranq gun to "pacify" them and avoid killing them

Time matters not, as the ones you interact with they would kill so.. Not easy learning languages from corpses. As for repairing the ship, depends on what is wrong with it though, there is alot of hull damage to it, and it may be that the people who survived wasnt the tech savy ones. Typically you have or had those working below deck(engineers), and you had other workers, who was doing all kinds of other work. Kind of like if you have a truck and its structure suffers a catasrophal failure, even if you are good at driveing it, or maintaining it(oil, washing it etc) dont mean people typically can rebuild a car from scratch ;)
