That would be annoying as you’d only be able to sort them alphabetically, or if you wanted to add something in a certain order, you’d have to take everything off, then add it again! I can’t believe 7 years on this isn’t fixed!

If you use the mod OCDecorator NPCs can't steal the items you place with it. If you're not using a mod, then you'll just have to accept the fact that items might not stay where you put them. It's just a fact of life in the game, unfortunately.

That only works on PC. You can't use commands on consoles.

Yes, I've had this problem for over a year now. Unfortunately PS4s don't have a lot of space for save games, this has nothing to do with mods. Likely you've run out of space and need to delete some old saves. I have several characters in Fallout 4, and each one has at least ten saves, since I like to keep a backlog of at least that many for each character. There is no room for new saves unless I delete old ones (do not overwrite old ones with new ones, you have to delete the old ones first.) These days, every time I make a new save, I have to delete the oldest save file for that character first. It's just habit to do that now.

@@WastelandDovahkiin Thanks for getting back. Unfortunately now I only have one character as I did fully delete all my other 3. I didn't have any issues before mods and had large save files. It's annoying as I'm wanting to create interesting settlements. Cheers

Not sure what could be the problem then if you don't have too many save files backed up. Might have to Google it.

The principle applies without the mod, but you can't use the trick of moving the shelf up and down without the mod, since the items won't stick to the shelf otherwise. But if you don't have the mod you can just use build mode to place items, making sure that the shelf is level with your line of sight to place them easily. This isn't always possible though.

I'm actually making a separate video to cover that issue. Hopefully I can get it out soon. :)

Wasteland Dovahkiin any idea when you gonna release that video. I can't put towels or sport items on shelves because they look like they melted thru the shelf and got stuck half way.

I just don't have a lot of time to make extra videos like that until after my move. Sorry. The basic concept though, if you want to experiment, is to use other items in sort of a "rug glitch" method. For instance, place the sinking object on top of a smaller object, and it should pop up to normal level. Place the sinking object mostly covering the other object so that you can't see the other object from the front or sides, but it should still be sticking out the back a little bit. Then grab the other object to move both of them together, like the rug glitch. Does that make sense? Towels, books and toy blocks are easier though, because you can just build two of them at the same time in the exact same place, and the second one will be at normal level, and you won't be able to see the first one. That only works if it's not on a shelf. Has to be on a solid piece of furniture, like on top of a dresser, or else you'll see the second stack of towels sinking through the bottom. Anyway, I hope that's enough for you go on for now. I've been so busy getting ready for my move that I just don't have time to make tips and tricks videos at the moment, since they're a lot more time consuming to make. It will be the very next tips and tricks video I make though, as soon as I am able. Good luck :-)

It does work with OCDecorator, that's what I was talking about.

You press and hold X until it selects both objects together. Then you can move them around as one.
