The turret missing every shot was a joke about how they can't hit shit unless it is a couple feet in front of them. I remember multiple times hearing an auto turret firing at me, and I thought it was firing at someone else. Because they never hit shit.

I also heard that giant suit getting its foot stuck in those planks was a nod to people glitching while wearing that armor in the game, and getting stuck in objects because of it.

Unless you have a better turrets mod that gives you turrets that actually protect your settlements 😂 is it cheating? Maybe, but I hate having to defend settlements every two damn seconds.

The Ghoul wants to use CX404 to track them, but also just by the way he was scratching her neck gently before administering the stem pack, you could tell he has some empathy left in him for dogs...

They're definitely setting up a comeback for him. Showing how he was a genuinely good person back before the bombs hit. They wouldn't show us that and make us empathize with him back when he was a human for nothing. Definitely going to be a redemption arch.

⁠@@xPershionxI don’t know. A redemption arc is possible but he’s got the capacity to get even worse. There could also be a bait and switch where he’s offered redemption and turns his back on it. The characters in this show are nuanced.

Around 29:50 you guys are reviewing Maximus' motives and how you feel about his choices- specifically his decision to let Titus die of his wounds instead of helping him. Remember that Titus was straight up telling Maximus that the moment they got back, the Brotherhood was going to string Maximus up by his lungs as a disgraced failure, and let the vultures pick him clean. Why would you help him Titus make sure that comes true? I think he was young, he works for a brutal paramilitary society (who will indeed follow through with Titus' threat), and he made a hard decision. I would have done the same, actually. Better to be able to make up a story than be railroaded by Titus' unworthy ass into an early grave.

I still think this is (at least what I’ve seen) following Campbell’s Monomyth. Lucy is the Hero, Wilzig is (sort of ) the Mentor (even down to dying in the first act), Maximus is the Shadow, and The Ghoul is possibly, the Herald, the Trickster, or both.

The thing about the Campbell Hero’s journey is that if it is a universal type story, many stories will fit the pattern regardless of the story teller’s intent. There’s also the risk of you (as audience member) trying to force the specifics of the story circle pattern where it doesn’t fit. There are three main characters here, each on their own journey, chasing the same Maguffin (the head). I don’t think the Ghoul is the main antagonist or nemesis, although he is an anti-hero and villainous. I think he’s a protagonist with his own goals. Maximus is doing his own thing, and I’m not sure what is long term goals are, but it’s clear that he also is pursuing the head. Anyway, a lot of writers have read Campbell or have heard about the story circle, but that doesn’t mean they’re following his formula any more than they might follow Sid Field’s 3-act formula.

The conversation he had with his buddy about it made me think he did it. His face was so uncomfortable when his friend stood up for him and said he wouldn't hurt a fly. Definitely saw guilt in his eyes there..
