Did players actually believe the Lake Meade Monster was anything other than just a reference to people in-universe misidentifying the resurfaced bomber though? Since that line only ever plays after Volare is complete.

It's a reference to the ""surgeon's photograph" the most famous alleged picture of the Loch Ness Monster taken in 1934 and proven to be a hoax in the 1990's, basically the hoaxer had used a deliberately badly exposed photo to make a figurine look bigger than it really was. Also it's always amused me that the hoaxer's day job was gynaecologist.

Well, there was one guy I heard of who was buried in Goodsprings Cemetery, rose from the grave, and tracked his killers across the length of the Mojave even to the heart of the strip itself. That's pretty spooky.

Don't quote me on this, i remember reading long ago that "Grenade Guy" is a nod to "Al ChestBreach" a Fallout youtuber who does the same type of stuff as GG, he supposedly gave the series a huge boost in popularity in the early-mid 2010s due to his mod videos.

My favourite part of grenade guy is that they describe him as making sounds of the bike backfiring as well. It's a nice little touch that gets overlooked in the whole conversation.

The lake monster is just in reference to the bomber plane that the boomers drag back up

I can't believe anyone thought the "Lake Mead Monster" was anything other than that plane. Those ghost whispers are literally just that, whispers played at gravesites.

I loved all the weird bugs in these games. I commonly had gibbed corpses "respawn" after a save and reload where they would either stand in place with all their gibbed bodyparts in the right place until you touch them and they fall apart, or the best, running in place and constantly shit talking me with their gibbed head parts floating in place until I put him down again.

Yeah! I think the burned corpses thing might also be because of that. On multiple plays I had the girl on the Omerta's quest respawn and walk around the room. It was so weird, and my first thought was "oh man, now I'm gonna be unable to finish this quest"

In addition to the Tribal Village bodies, Trash at the Old Nuclear Test Site can reanimate, as well as the Gomorrah dancer that Clanden killed, whose corpse is headless, but reanimated perfectly fine (except that speaking with her gives the same options as if she were dead).

How did people not realize that the Lske Mead Moster was actually the bomber you raised from the bottom of the lake? You'd think it'd be obvious when that part of the broadcast plays after you complete the quest Volare.

I feel like ghosts is something Fallout doesn't lean into enough, a sudden death event like a nuke going off would be a prime event for making ghosts, not to mention fallout 2 and 4 definitely have sidequests involving ghosts

A lot of myths require the dying to be going through severe emotions in order to create a ghost. A sudden event like the Great War might not have been the most viable for this.

@@____________838 thousands if not millions of people dying at once though would definitely have an impact spiritually, though to be precise its not like everyone didn't see the nukes dropping, like at the start of 4 where people see it happening in the distance and the radio/tv broadcasts, there was definitely time for severe emotions to build up before people got snapped out of existence

The Goodsprings cemetery ghost voices are confirmed to exist. They have a set start time each night and play for a couple of minutes

Honestly the Arlington ghost would have been a great Easter egg there The restless spirit of a soldier mourning another who fell in combat over 200 years ago would fit in so well with fallouts supernatural aspects

I actually did encounter the ‘burned bodies’ glitch in my 3rd or 4th playthrough of New Vegas; it was weird, but I did love how ED-E pretty much just ‘took the shuttle to murder-town’, and waded into the mass of corpses and cazadores… 👀🤖🔥

Actually no the New Vegas cemeteries are haunted. The graves have audio markers for the whispers.

i encountered the burned bodies glitch for the first time during my most recent playthrough of new Vegas and it caught me off guard but I did not hesitate in putting them down.

“Poey” like Edgar Allen Poe _would_ be a clever (or obvious) name for a post-apocalyptic “unknown soldier” ghost which honestly the idea of makes me cry because of its emotional weight if I saw a grunt apparition salute some graves and then me I’d happily salute right back

I'm the one who came up with the hoax, I got the idea of the soldier saluting the grave from the ending of Metal Gear Solid 3. Arlington is the perfect place for something like that, and more believable due to the irl Arlington being a cemetery almost made of entirely dead US soldiers

Hey! Its the guy who made the original post on the Fandom. It was indeed a hoax. I was trolling the wiki as i often did and never intended for it to go this far. I had no clue until watching this that there was any talk of it outside the wiki. I figured it was long forgotten by now. I havent really checked since because i was banned shortly after for trolling. The screenshot i got from google images for the cemetery, and as for poey, i used a screenshot from a geck tutorial here on KZfaq. I spent about a total of 5 minutes formulating a story and the images. Its funny the one time i dont do an elaborate hoax, and instead to a rushed one without much thought its the one that actually takes off. Sorry guys, just doing a little trolling.

I had the burned bodies one happen to me the other day and it was spooky. I literally watched two "burned body" characters clip up off the ground, had them attack me, and killed them in one hit. Freaky glitch.

Once early in a playthrough I went to the camp with the body's there were no Cazador's. like a fool I slept in one the tents ... I think anyway I ended up stuck in the tent because the game loaded in the Cazador's and I had not saved for a while good times. Thanks for the video duder.

AH! That explains why I got jumped by a bunch of zombie-lookin' bastids that were dead before when I came to that camp and killed the cazadors previously. I thought it was a console glitch. I felt bad offin' everybody but Cass had already opened fire so I wasn't waiting to ask questions.

the Mew Vegas ghosts may not exist. but the ambient sound that activates when close to or in the graveyards. that us real. it only activates when in or close to the graveyards. i have heard them myself. the sound is very different from the rest of the ambient noises.

The burned bodies always respawn for men, but they have bascially no HP and are quickly killed

The tribal village living dead glitch actually happened to me in my first playthrough of F:NV, I'll be honest it didn't really freak me out. Because I didn't realize they were the dead bodies from my first time I passed through that place and i just killed them without a second thought. It was only after tried looting them did it occur to me they were one in the same.

After 450 hours into starfield i decided to try out Fallout 4 for the first time ever and i like it so far. Im glad i didnt start on survivor cause ive already died about 7-8 times on very hard. I have owned both Skyrim and FO4 since they came out on digital and have never once played them.

So hear me out… i heard a theory that potentially the “blue ghoul whale “ could have been a beluga whale but like with a game of telephone it got changed/mis heard as a blue ghoul whale.
