Modern pokemon took out the casinos. I never got a gambling habit but I don't like how they took them out

sometimes i try roulette or the slots just for fun and the odds really are way worse than blackjack even with 10 luck, its supposed to effect tbem but it barely does in my experience go to blackjack with 10 luck? just double down every turn without even looking you'll be banned from the casino in minutes

I always thought slots barely being affected by luck was some intentional commentary on them being rigged, or something...

Strangely in my experience, I got kicked out playing slots for like 3 minutes (It was also my first time ever having chips so I thought that’s just how slots worked in game) but when I tried playing Blackjack the dealer cleaned me out. I looked up the rules and found some tricks but the dealer would always win. I would be dealt 20 five hands in a row, and the dealer would draw 21 every time. Then I get 11, so I double down and get a 9. Ha! Beat that. Dealer draws 21 again. What?!?! According to other players my luck stat is high enough that I shouldn’t be experiencing loss to the degree that I am. I don’t know. I guess it’s just not worth touching gambling in game unless your luck skill is maxed out for some reason.

by it didn’t care i mean i had a blackjack the dealer turns iver their cards and it wasn’t a blackjack but then it starts drawing until it jad a pefrect 21 so we tied. So how does one win? Because it constantly beat the odds I would get 18, 19, 20 and without fail the dealer would draw 19, 20, 21. I was just hemorrhaging money. Good thing it was just legion denarius I was using. Even though i’m loaded I just don’t want to waste my caps. There’s random expensive stuff like the implants

Three answers to this: 1) To prove that I can. Just like robbing the gold in the sierra madre is an absolute neccessity. It's not about the money, it's about the message. The message is I'm a shut in with too much time. Hell, I cleaned all the casinos, hoarded every item and robbed the gold in the sierra madre last run even though I abused the infinite casino chip glitch, meaning I could get infinite money. More importantly, I could get around 35000 caps every 2 seconds. (in reality, none of the casino winnings from gambling in the main game can quite compare to the money you can make off of selling all the pre-war money you can get in exchange for siera madre chips in the dead money dlc. I'm pretty sure the most you can get from siera madre gambling alone is over 200k caps worth in pre-war money.) 2) If you're doing a "no major glitches" run, it's not so much about how much money you could realistically make in total, but about how fast you can make it and at what level. Jury rigging is good for repairing armor, and you have weapon repair kits for weapons, but trading for caps means hauling gear to and fro, taking up inventory space and precious time. That whole schtick might get boring in a game that has vendors with limited caps to spend. A couple of hours spent at the casinos in vegas, on the other hand, and you can get AT least like 50k caps. (more if you actually use your brain and consider the fact that you can go over the casino limit before getting kicked out. So you in fact go to 1 cap less than the limit, then go to the roulettes table and continuously put your caps on the same number. So long as you win, you win more than the casino limit would technically allow. Meaning every casino limit is in fact 7000 caps more than what the game shows you. So that's about 70k caps in all of the city of new vegas casinos combined.) Seeing as this can be done in a few hours, you should treat that as a BONUS for all the stuff you can do OUTSIDE of gambling, like jury rigging and increasing your barter skill. Keep in mind that if you want the REALLY good shit from the gun runners, especially after the dlc, you definitely need way, way more than 70k or just the money you get from caravan and jury rigging. You want it all. Unless you're not a hoarder like me and just immediately go for one major gun only. That's fair. 3) A level 1 character, in order to maximize their special stats and skill point attribution (if that's how you wish to play, of course), should always go to the city of new vegas as SOON as possible, without levelling up in the meantime. Gamble at the atomic wrangler and gomorrah, and use the winnings to buy the intelligence implant at usanagi's clinic. While answer three is a SPECIFIC way to play the game, it's just as viable as any other.

because its stupid easy to start a character with 7 or 8 luck, break the bank on every casino, and then go from there to play however you want. also, caravan is too much effort for a paltry sum of what you could earn by just playing blackjack on the strip.

blackjack is stupid easy. caravan is pretty much the same thing but with extra steps, and you have to collect cards probably. I don’t know because i’ve never bothered learning how to play a card game inside of a video game especially when most of the time i’ve got like 3 caps and 4 health. I run by the seat of my pants. If I want to get rich quick I’ll just do easy quests. Just being on the strip and interacting with the families completes a bunch of quests for different factions that you then just go talk to a person and say “I already…” and bam you have a ton of XP and caps
