Though it’s lore breaking; if the NCR had all this tech, why haven’t they used it against the Legion in the Mojave? Why would they be losing to the legion if they did have all this tech? Why- you get what I mean, NCR here seems extremely overpowered for no reason despite the fact they’re supposed to be deserters.

I always think about presenting a friend, that never played the game before, the base game, but with all the good quest and overhaul mods and never tell him/her it's even modded. Same with Skyrim when all of Beyond Skyrim comes out, tho in this case the difference in quality would be so big that he/she would think Skyrim is a mod lmao.

The problem is that people are running a 2010 game with 2021 computers. At the time, something like this would NOT run on consoles and even PC.

They kinda do. Bethesda didn't make NV, and this is clearly straining the engine and whatever machine it would run on to the limit. In 2010 when NV released this would be considered unplayable because no hardware would be able to play it. Lastly, Fallout 3 has 4 years of development, New Vegas had 2. How many years did this have? 6, maybe?

Fallout isn’t supposed to be solely post apoc. That’s why 3 and 4 and 76 fail in part, Bethesda keeps saying the world needs to be like it was nuked a few years ago. It’s post post apoc. Humanity survived the nukes, the nuclear winter. Now it’s time to rebuild and make new nations and their ethics.

Bit late to this, but honestly, this video was the good part of the NCR storyline. Things take a bit of a turn as soon as the lasers show up, but the segments in this video? Actually genuinely good. It's nice to see someone enjoying it rather than hating it.

What really ruined the mod for me (besides game breaking bugs), was the writing and humor. Some parts are way over the top for instance the ressources the NCR wastes on rescuing 1 person that just joined them that same day. You are treated like a walking legend worth sacrificing half an army for, but you have to do menial tasks such as mine laying and patrolling which doesn´t seem like the type of work legends should be doing. Doesn´t seem logical at all. The humor always seems so forced and quirky and silly and it doesn´t suit the Fallout universe IMO. Breaking the 4th wall every 10 seconds removes all immersion with some stupid references/jokes about youtubers, space oddity, Arnold Schwarzenegger and much more pop culture stuff. If it wasn´t for the bugs that keep ruining my game I don´t think I could complete it several times like I initially planned because after more than 10 hours the jokes, humor and 4th wall breaking starts to annoy me and the story has too many extreme twists and turns that don´t make any sense. One last note: Some of the voice acting is god awful simply because the accent of the NPC is overexaggerated to a point where it´s painful to listen to.

I heard from TKS-Mantis, who was initially doing voice work for one of the NPC's before being kicked out. Said that the head voice over director (or one of the other ones if there are any) wanted him to put on a fake deep voice that he didn't feel comfortable with. He even reenacted the cringe voice they wanted him to use versus his normal voice. And his normal voice would have been so much better. I have my suspicions from what i've seen from the gameplay voice overs and what Mantis said. And im very inclined to believe that the voice over director is likely the one to blame for the cringe voice overs. Not saying the voice work could've been perfect mind you since this was done as a free to play project, but it's also clear they could of done a much better job.

Yeah, I think the game really needed a director to come in and assure tone and quality, it's a bit all over the place, silly humour vs the horrors of war, the courier is important enough to send an army to rescue vs the courier is just another nobody in army. From what I've heard becuase it's a free mod the project lead didn't really have any power over the other modders.

Agree. it should be better off with Courier to escape himself by using one of your Special and Skills in a good use maybe with high Agility or high Survival skill or maybe certain Perks will help the Courier escape, of course, that would be a challenge to script and decide how it will go because it involve stealth and lots of sneak but that's much better than having deserter army out of nowhere just to rescue ur ass. Or maybe in better option, why not have this deserter army from an extensive range distance with silenced sniper rifle shooting your way out while you sneak careful? I'm no writer but imo this is a much better case than what we got here LOL.. I guess devs team playing GTA 5 a lot that the wanted to use that character switch system so much huh.

This mod would probably be very cool if it wasn’t also Riddled with all the other horrible shit in it such as a scaly harem, fuckable death claw, that awful event with the character Freedom, and of course the infamous asset designer that was into beastiality. This mod had a lot of good, but just a dash too much bad to make it palatable.

It got taken down because on of the devs got found out for pedophilia. Of course, the entire team knew about him the entire time and had no problem with it until people exposed him. Also, uploader is deleting comments that link to any video talking about anything negative about the Frontier or the devs. So yeah, it's all insane, much salt from the defenders of the mod.

It is a shame that this mod ended up being such a mixed bag. The weapons and cinematic bits are incredible, and the concept is solid. It was just let down by some of the writing and voice acting in parts. Overall, still a testament to how far modding has come.

@@lego007guym8 More that they have project leads able to tell writers "that wouldn't work" and the writer can't take their ball and go home/threaten to derail the entire project if they don't do it their way! XD If they take the ball then what are you gonna play with? Nothing... so you put up with the shitheaded diva and try to mitigate damage. Behavior like that is rampant in colab mods... but it doesn't quite fly in the corporate world.
