One of my songs with my late husband. At a nightclub when we were teenagers, interested in each other & being all shy!😉 This came on & I almost ran into his arms at the lyric "open up your loving arms." 🤣 It was 1984/5, innocent times, & I remember it as if it was a week ago. I wish it was....

In this episode of Brad & Lex, this electro 80,s pop sound fills the area contributing to Lex's "stir bop" with a brief "robotic chop bop" just because....Brad is conflicted by the updated version of the Dead Or Alive classic but conflict or none, Brad still manages to gift us with a cool little "sway".

A major club scene song of the 80s with tons of staying power. Smoke filled dance floors, champagne rooms, lights flashing, tunes blasting, alcohol pouring, barmaids scantily clad, bartenders with long white sleeve shirts and black bow ties...takes me back to the days of clubs in SoFL (Ft. Lauderdale, Palm Beach, Miami). Pete and Lenny's, Copacabana, La Volcanique, what fun. Breakfast at 4 am.

VERY 80's sounding. Yeah as soon as synth became popular, it were everywhere. Even other instruments, like drums, have a unique sound in the 80's. There is an awesome short documentary on KZfaq about how Phil Collins, from Genesis, stumbled upon a unique drum effect in the recording of his album in the early 80's, and the technique caught fire and started to show up on every studio album that was released for the next decade.

@@mvellis3863 That's true. I believe Phil Collins gets so much recognition for gated drums due to how prevalent it is in Frida's "Something's Going On". It's definitely a polarizing sound. I know people who absolutely hate it. Like it myself. If you are playing gated drums, you are drawing a lot of attention to yourself...your playing needs to solid.

@1:49 "...very 80s...so 80s..." As someone who grew up in 80s music, it definitely hit me with perspective. That's because when I look back at the 80s, I think it was so diverse, that you can't just listen to one song and say "so 80s". But then I'm guilty of it too because I would also describe other songs as "definitely 60s" and "so 70s".

"party stuff" perhaps that's what Flo Rida had in mind when he used the chorus in his song "Right Round", although the lyrics are slightly changed to refer to a stripper. that song features Kesha.

This song is in the movie The Hangover. A local group from St Louis called Dr Zhivegas who play all over the country and some other countries, still covers this song and it always gets the dance floor full, lol!

I have been spinning during this song after taking a few "party favors" back in the day. Just too old to keep doing that these days

If you guys enjoyed this then you should perhaps try - BLACK BOX - " Ride on Time " or YAZZ - " The Only Way Is Up " - similar vibes

The first Stock, Aitken and Waterman produced hit. Great Pop song. My wife and I used to dance to this back in the 80s.

Pausing this video a minute in. I'm not sure what Brad is going to say about the song, or if he digs it or not. But as soon as that chorus kicks in, a big old smile comes across his face. Dude absolutely digs this song and he can't hide it lol
