The father doesn’t know how to accept the transition. It isn’t easy. And just like the daughter wants a certain level of acceptance, they have to give it. Clearly the daughter can be very disrespectful too. She wants all the respect and acceptance but doesn’t give it. She needs to grow up.

I feel like the dad is trying, I get that him not accepting her is hard but he’s also grieving about losing his son. I feel like as much as they’re wanting him to just accept it he needs time & by allowing him to bond and create a new relationship as his daughter this could be fixed. Him showing up is one thing, he isn’t good at expressing & with these type of people you have to talk to them in a way where you’re explaining it to them & not dumping everything on them & making they feel like they’re the bad person

They are grown now so, I think the mother has too much to say at this point their issues are separate. Now it just takes time. Sisters should have eachothers back. Its always a deeper issue either a resentment, jealousy or entitlement when it comes to family. Whoever is involved have to be willing to open up to resolve it and be willing to be truthful about how they feel and go to the core issue of how they feel. I advocate therapy to everyone because it's a neutral way of opening up calmly without any interruption or arguing

Proud of these daughters for standing their ground. Their father is not taking accountability. As a trans person with an abusive dad, I can relate a lot. Yes it's important for him to get Aryana's name and pronouns right but its so much deeper than that. Yes trans kids ideally have patience with their parents getting pronouns and names right, but these two ALREADY have a bad relationship. He has to come 100% if he wants to heal this relationship when he was abusive to his children.

I know you said that you are a chance person and I love that for you, but it’s easy to you because you’re able to just adapt like that I want to be called she her I want to dress up more feminine I want to change my voice to become more feminine it’s easy for you to make those decisions because you feel like you’ve been wanting that your entire life apparently…. why really annoys me is the family continuing to throw in their fathers face that they feel disrespected cuz their dad called his now daughter by her given birth nMe...not her LEGAL name that's such bull....cuz from personal family trans experience I can say its simply difficult not intentional but truly difficult to remember to refer to someone by a brand NEW name!! I do always apologize whenever I catch myself calling my family member by their given name by accident and now happens less and less....also as a str8 person a sibling went by a short version of their name then got very specific about what her name was and like I said it takes time to adjust to a name change!!! Give DAD a break!!!! A break about the name...no passes on being absent.

As a black gay man, give your father time. My father accepts me for who I am after 3 years. Now, he will beat someone a$$ right now over me. We talked every day until he passed 2016. I took care of him until he died. On his death bed, he told me that he was so proud of me, the man that I became. He told me that was better than him. I miss him so much.

I have a bio daughter but now wants me to refer to him as a boy. I'm bisexual and part of the lgbtq+ but as his mother I still mess up and say she or her and call her by her girl name by accident. Never intentionally I just forget but luckily I have amazing children and he knows I try to remember ❤

I grew up in a very strict Christian household where we would read the Bible and have devoted prayer all the time, and attend church. I bet you don't know whole scriptures off by heart like me. I don’t understand why people feel as if only their feelings matter. We didn’t all come from loving, excepting families, we are learning as we go through life. The fact that it bothers (him) her so much about dad excepting her, maybe ( he) she should have waited till she excepted herself without anyone’s approval. It seems they are just angry. I came from a broken home and I mean it was horrific, shooting at one another, fighting and much more. As I got older I saw the type of childhood my father and mother came from and decided I wanted to live differently. With love peace joy and be happy. All I can say is that yes it’s good to stand your ground about who you are… but no matter mom dad friend or stranger you can’t expect someone to understand your transition and fully make them accept who you are at the drop of a dime that’s not how it works give the man his time to accept it…. That will hurt any man especially if one has wanted a son and transitions to a daughter…. She's full of crap !! Jealous .last case, it'd very hard for some people to get used to their son being a girl or visa versa! Her dad needs time to adjust Noone can say when someone will feel comfortable and that's ok for him to take the time he needs! It's not easy for everyone maybe mom isn't being completely truthful. I have no idea what's true but she is taking everything the wrong way on the stage .parents arent perfect eigther and have their own issues same as the kids do.

I feel for the father because the transgender will never understand that the parent feels like their child died and became something that they didn’t create. Changing your gender is YOUR CHOICE. You cannot expect your parents to be so accepting so fast! As a mother, if my son all of a sudden decides he wants to be a woman, I will still call him my SON. I gave birth to a BOY. Period. Too many have tried to be transgender but then ended up going BACK to what they were born as. See no one talks about THAT. Just because you may be confused doesn’t mean others have to also pretend to be accepting of your delusion. MY OPINION and it’s not HATE, it’s REALITY.

The father is in deep pain. It is hard for him to express himself because he feels alone. It’s 4 against 1. Society, the 2 daughters, the mother. It is super painful for a grown man of his generation to accept his son as a daughter. They are condescending towards him. (No he doesn’t have 2 daughters). He gave birth to a boy and a girl.

I appreciate you speaking your opinion. As a mother, I can understand why you feel the way you feel. However, I do not agree how you are going about it. We may not like the choices our kids make but they are still our kids. We love them unconditionally like Jesus loves us. At the end of the day people are only accountable for their own choices and Jesus is the judge and jury. Love your kids wholeheartedly. If something happened to your children because of how you treated them because of your feelings how would you feel? Help your kids from the Jesus love and pray for God to touch their heart. He is the only one who brings true deliverance and healing. It’s all from a broken place.

I don’t have any children but I can see where he feels pain in a way and I agree with your opinion. Also, i think for a parent to experience their child transition puts them in a position where they grieve the loss the child they gave birth to and have to come to terms and acceptance with what their child wants…so i think they should be a bit more lenient with the father and try to see it from his pov especially since men deal with their emotions differently

The ladies in the second family are beautiful. Wannabe DMX needs to try harder for them, calling every now and then is the bare minimum. I do think coming to the show was a good first step because they needed a moderator. There's too much hurt there but they can overcome it together.
