they keep him well-oiled, and the son joins him to walk to his house so he'll be safe but when the son is going home, Paul joins him so he'll also be safe so after they arrive the son has to join him get back home, it's a loop that probably takes 30 minutes; a good workout . What a wholesome neighbor .

I've lived @10 states in ye US other countries I always make sure I know my neighbors. When I was younger people didn't move as much as jobs were more secure. As I got older it was just meeting new people and now ya need to also know for security reasons sadly enough. I'm also a people person. If I don't see someone for awhile I worry about them especially seniors. I'm 65 now but the world has not taken away my joy of meeting someone new. I also smile and say hello to the homeless person on the street. It doesn't cost a dime to acknowledge and possibly make someone's day. They !ay be down on their luck but they are still our fellow citizens.

The same thing happened to my father, before he died. After my mom died, my father a Jamaican lived alone in their family home in Florida. On the opposite side of the street was a young American white couple with their kids. They loved my father so much, they practically adopted him.The kids loved to spend time with him.The parents regularly brought him meals, took him to the doctor, go for walks with him etc.Unfortunately, us, his own adult kids were living too far away in other states.I was living in Italy at the time. When the parents called me and told me that I needed to come soon because he was in his last days, I immediately boarded a flight.Fortunately I arrived just in time.Thank you Michelle and Beau! I have been blessed that over the past few years, I have been the "adopted" dad of my neighbour's children. Her husband died, tragically, leaving her with young children. His last words to me were to beg me to watch over his family, which I have done. Although people are used to it now, at first I would get😮 strange looks, they are British Asian, I am white. I've tried to do what their own father would have done, advising them as they grew, helping with homework, telling them off if necessary, and so on. A while ago, next-door had a workman in. He stood and watched as I was spending time with the children, then came up and said, "This is amazing! Those children are going to remember you all of their lives." I felt so proud at that moment, I felt like a dad. I'm thankful that I live in an area that still upholds the importance of community, of caring, and of a willingness to go the extra mile for your neighbours.

Her son worked for a snack company and when he came to visit her he found out she had a little friend 😁, he started bringing me bags of snacks… I couldn’t believe it ❤🥹🥰 I was thankful ☺️. I remember all the kids asking me why I got those snacks,… at that time I didn’t really know why… but as I got older I realized that I was the only child that visited her house just to talk and play 😊. She lived alone with llike 6 dogs. Sometimes when she got sick we visited her took her flowers or just to see if she may needed something. I remember every Sunday she would dress up to go to church looking so elegant. It was like that for many years untill she passed away 😭. We still have a picture of her in my moms house. I think the media wants us to believe that certain races hate others, it is not true. Most people are like this family and the elderly man in the video, we just want peace in our lives. Stay sweet and kind, it will keep you happy!

@@TheSpawnycatNot only that. We don’t trust people because we know they can use you for their selfish benefit. Most of people I met in my life don’t know how to listen or perhaps don’t want to listen. They just want to talk about themselves. That being said, people are often good for shallow relationship.

I never knew either of my grandfathers, as they both died before I was born. My partner and I don't have any kids and both live far from our biological families, but we moved next door to a couple with two young boys, and during the COVID lockdowns we spent a lot of time with them and now feel like extended family, going to all the kids' recitals, birthdays, etc. It is such a gift to really love your neighbors, and kids can never have too many loving adults in their lives!

When I was growing up up in Las Cruces NM. My mother and sister’s adopted an elderly couple till death. Grandma Dilling and Grandpa Dilling. My mother was by their sides at death. Their own biological children disowned them. When the Dillings’ past away all the sudden their biological children showed up to fight over the house etc. sad. To this day we still talk and remember the Dillings our adopted grandparents that loved us unconditionally.
