Piper and Bret weren't really related. They initially thought they were when Stu Hart told Bret that there were Toombs in their family. That was pretty much it. But later Bret learned that the spelling was different so Roddy wasn't actually related to them. But even after they found out they just decided to still treat each other like family. Roddy did a clean job to Bret on TV which was the first he had ever done in an almost two decade long career. He was always adamant that if the cameras are rolling he will not be pinned. Even when Hogan floated the idea of him and Roddy trading the belt back and forward during their big feud Roddy said he wouldn't let Hulk pin him on TV so it was scrapped. So he clearly loved Bret to give him that honor.

Bret Hart debunked the family connection with Piper. While the Hart's were related to some Toombs (Piper's real last name), they were not related to Piper's line. Bret stated this when he was addressing a crowd regarding Piper's passing.

Piper vs Hart at wrestlemania 8 should be talked about a lot more , it gets overshadowed by Bret vs Bulldog later that year at summerslam

Ah, Roddy. I remember growing up in Winnipeg, my grandpa took me to an autograph signing for Roddy, Batista and Jericho happening at one of the malls. I remember being so excited to see Batista at the time, cause this was when Batista was World Heavyweight Champion and the face of Smackdown. I was a Batista kid lol, you were either a Batista kid or Cena kid during those days. But Batista was a no show, and I was sad. But my Grandpa was excited to see Roddy, and I thought it was cause he was a fan. Nope, turns out they were friends from back when they used to live on the streets when they were younger lol. I always called BS on my papa when he said he said he was friends with Roddy, but I couldn't believe it when we met him IRL at Portage Place. Apparently Roddy used to go back and forth from Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, and just roam around. That was when my grandpa made friends with him. Apparently they kept each other safe while the other slept for a bit and found places to crash. Never doubted my pops after that lol

The Laurinitas family is pretty athletic as Animal’s son was an all American LB at Ohio St. and was in the NFL. Not sure if he is currently on an NFL roster.

Dusty mentioned it once, that Tugboat is Cody‘s Uncle during a legends roundtable on the Network. Young Cody saw the debut of the Shocktrooper and shouted out: Look, it is Uncle Fred!!

Mike Awesome was not Hulk Hogan's cousin, despite it being perceived that way for many years. He is related to Horace Hogan, Hulk's real life nephew, but from Horace's maternal side, while Hulk is his paternal uncle. Therefore, technically Awesome and Hulk are related solely through marriage.

Dude poor Fred Ottman, it was not his fault he tripped. Some dummy put a 2x4 at shin height on that wall and Ottman did not know it and could not see it because of the sparkly stormtrooper helmet. That is just another example of someone being blamed for something that was not really his fault at all.

I started watching wrestling back in 1966, I was 8 years old. My brother who was a younger than me used to sit with Greg Valentine and his mom when Johnny was wrestling. We lived with our grandparents, and they were both huge wrestling fans, if the matches were in San Diego at the Colosseum, we were there, we used to watch the matches every Wednesday night on TV at home.

I went to school with Fred Ottman for Junior year English. He was easily the biggest person at Miami Sr. High School in a school full of 5'7" Cubans like myself!. We weren't friends or anything;but we had a few conversations regarding music. He would say he never liked the Beatles and that he was more of a Stones fan. Once he came into class carying a copy of a Wishbone Ash album. He was kind of quiet in class...sat in the front chair of the second row onext to the window.

For years I too believed that bret hart was related to roddy piper, however the whole rumor started due to roddys birth name being seemingly the same as stu harts. Bret has since made it clear that he and roddy are not related at all infact though the name is similar the spelling is different.

I remember a wrestler from WCW during the late 70’s by the name of Buzz Sawyer. He had a brother who wrestled in Southwest Championship Wrestling by the name of Brett Wayne, who later became known as Brett Wayne Sawyer. They were Tag Team Champions somewhere for a brief period. And very suprised that there was no mention in this video that Randy”Macho Man”Savage & “Leaping”Lanny Poffo are brothers, and former Pro Wrestler Angelo Poffo was their father.

Fred Ottman and Jerry Sags are indeed Cody's maternal uncles, as Cody's mother is their first cousin. However, they are not Dustin's biological maternal uncles, as Dustin and Cody do not have the same mother.

Are you sure you should have Shawn Michaels and Matt Bentley on this list? Being Shawn Michaels's cousin was pretty much the only gimmick that Bentley had on TNA. So it's one of the only things that people would even know about him.

It wasn't Fred's fault that someone high up (reportedly Turner himself) order them to put a brace across that wall. That brace was what he tripped on. It wasn't on the walls used in rehearsal.
