Topagee should be OEM stuff on a van these days given how every gauge fitted to a van/rv is wildly inaccurate and useless - and for what you pay for a good van these days! Great content as always!

I remember an Easter camping trip to Straddie in an MDC camper trailer with a young family. The wind picked up and blew huge volumes of Eastern beach dune sand. We huddled inside day and night trying to stop the sand piling up on everything. We needed shovels to dig out the awning when the wind died down. It was shit! We got bogged trying to get out onto the beach. Its always luck of the draw with the weather when you are booking camping dates and locations.

Try the backwards and forwards slowly to compact the sand before gunning it, it's always worked for me, even in soft stuff. Then you can get a bit of momentum going... Cheers Mark...

My biggest fear when on the beach, well anywhere 4wding for that matter is getting bogged when no one is around , my anxiety went through the roof watching you guys. Lucky people came to the rescue lol

Pity about the wind, not sure when you were there, September little wind, October in jumps, May is the best outside school holidays 14 mile is a great spot, the main con is the fishing does not involve catching 😂

We were there in September. Its been a bit of a funny year, I had a trip planned up around the same area a month or so earlier and it got rained off with roads shut. Yeah got to agree with you on the fishing front, not a hell of a lot happens off the beach there!

G'day guys awesome episode, just did some online shopping and got some towels so looking to them arriving 😀😀😀 Water tank filling, great conversation starter, clearly your set up is the goer, but we have a 100ltr bladder with transfer pump to transfer to our tanks but your is more user friendly, well done 👍👍👍 I've move to DJI cameras cos the GoPros kept on failing with heat , loss of data issues, can't fault them, unless your in voice command mode and your mates know all about it and take advantage of the moment and yell out " stop recording " 🤫🤫🤫 anyway, cheers for sharing, oh yer , turn ya van around out of the wind and sit back and enjoy doing nothing 😀😀😀just remember you travel up the road doing 100km/ph on the road so your van can handle a puff of breeze, it's just if you can 😁😁😁 Cheers andy

Yeah it does. Its plumbed in before the pump so it will monitor every litre that comes out of the water tanks.

Hey Rod, I've got two tanks too. If you plumb it in just before or after your water pump and set the volume to total volume of both tanks, then it will have no problems reading multiple tanks.

I would like to try out the towels but worried about being microfibres as I hate the feeling of them ( ie the car cleaning pieces) Could you tell me if the towels are the same? G'day Patrick. I think you're talking about the Terry Towel type microfibre cloths- they're the most common type. Our bath and beach towels are waffle weave. They're super absorbent, non-abrasive and lint free. made from Pique fabric mimicking a waffle pattern that works like little cups for holding water and moisture. Unlike thick towels with a plush nap, waffle weave towels come with tighter weave that makes the towels thin and very fast to dry. Their weave structure makes them best suited for hair drying, bath, and pet care.

Can the water monitor be used on gravity fed water taps under a ute tray. Or does it need the "pressure" of the pump to trigger calculations?

As long as your gravity feed is more than 1ltr per minute it will work

Cam with the I check tyre monitor, do you find it a pain adjusting tyre pressures with all those valve fittings and rubber boots etc?

Nah no dramas with the boots. They stay in place while I'm airing down or up.

Could definitely make a VDJ79 work weight wise, not sure the bank balance would allow the build though! But a 200/300 series is not a viable solution for our needs. 200/300 series cruisers have a decent GCM (6750/6850kg). But they start around 600kgs heavier than any dual cab, don't have the roof load capacity that I need for a decent size tinny up top and have 600-800kgs LESS payload than my Dmax has.

Have you contacted your caravan OEM? I would think that the issue with tank gauge accuracy would be a warranty claim

Nah I didn't. I've seen on the owners groups that many people have had the same issue. So I don't think its broken, probably just inaccurate. Probably could have pushed for it though!

Tyres were at the pressures I'd just towed a 3t van on the beach with a few kms north. Foolishly expected the beach to be similarly firm but it obviously wasn't! Certainly didn't get bogged for content 🤣 I don't think viewers would really care whether I got bogged or not anyway.

@@TheLukaszpg you think the v8 in the 79 series is reliable? I’ll give you a hint they are no better then anything else on the market, they have significant coking problems which no catch can will ever solve, and they love chewing out injector tips.
