My Richard Dawson Memorial Family Feud Upload
In this final-season syndicated episode, Richard is awarded with very high marks, which is why this is a good episode to upload in his memory. Included is his aired speech from the 1985 finale (from the Feud 25 marathon in 2001).
Comments about his passing and his life are accepted in this video only.

Richard Dawson will always be THE host of Family Feud living or not. One of the most underrated people to be in business. Everyone needs to realize that you wouldn't have Family Feud today if it wasn't for Mr. Dawson. We will always miss you, but you lived a great life, made us laugh, and gave us one the most popular game shows in TV History. RIP Richard Dawson (November 20, 1932 - June 2, 2012).

Will always love Richard. When I see his genuine kindness to an elderly contestant it melts my heart. Finally understood why he left Match Game, which I still love, Love his late in life interview. You are the best Richard. Miss you.

I had never seen the report card episode...super super sweet of them...and correct too. I've seen the final sendoff and it gets me every time I see it. Him acknowledging the disagreements and still loving everybody is huge to me. What he said though about what his mom told him regarding differences in people is spot on and I am glad he heeded that advice. To me he is the best host Family Feud has ever had...mainly cause he was the first and did it for so many years.

I will always remember Richard Dawson for playing Peter Newkirk on Hogan's Heroes, for being one of the panelists on The Match Game, and of course for being the host of Family Feud.

I loved Richard Dawson watching him on “Hogan’s Heroes,” as a game show panelist on both “I’ve Got A Secret” and “Match Game” and as host of “Family Feud.” May he Rest In Peace as “The Kissing Bandit.”

I’ve posted this before but Richard was to the Feud what Johnny Carson was to The Tonight Show. Absolute class act. I watched Richard when I could growing up and if there’s a Richard episode on Buzzr when I catch it I’ll watch it there too. I did watch a fair bit of Ray Combs and I liked him too. Sad what happened to him. Aside from once in a blue moon an episode here and there I haven’t really watched the Feud since Ray left. It just isn’t the same without Richard especially. Loved his enthusiasm and energy!

Family Feud will always lived on with Steve Harvey as the host but is Richard Dawson that put Family Feud on the TV Game Show Map from the Beginning Richard Dawson SURVEY SAYS... RIP Rich, I watched this way back in the day... just did a search for "Richard Dawson Family Feud" because I recently saw him on a TV commercial... His kissing all the female hosts still trips me out, but it was acceptable given the time & era. Now it makes me want to re-watch that movie Running Man!

Wow! was it raelly 85 when he ended his run on Family Feud? I didn't think it was that long ago. I remember watching that episode in first run. He was and always will be my favorite host of the show. I also loved him as Newkirk on Hogan's Heros.

Steve Harvey stinks! Richard was THE BEST for this show. And if people got upset about a kiss, then they aren't human.

Steve Harvey ranks right up there and he, to me, is the up to date version of Richard Dawson. Richard Dawson, for his many strengths, was a great host of Family Feud but he also offended a lot of people and had a famous clash with Howard Felsher that was well-known. Richard was crass and funny, however, by 1985 people got tired of him. I always wondered as to what would have happened if the show switched networks the next year...how long the series would have kept on going. If Richard was hosting on CBS instead of Ray Combs, would the viewers still watch him? Something to think about. Plus, Richard wouldn't have been able to handle the culture of today like Steve does - Steve just takes Richard Dawson to a whole another level. He even references Richard Dawson in one of Harvey's Family Feud episodes.

+CHRIS ARSENEAULT Sorry, but I think Steve Harvey is the second-best Feud host (Dawson, of course, will ALWAYS be #1). We were NEVER offended by Dawson kissing ALL the women. It was freakin' hilarious.

I rank Steve 3rd on my list, Richard and Ray were better, but Steve has made the show his own and I enjoy it a lot, the sex Questions could go, and Steve could still be funny.

I feel the same about Steve Harvey. I think he is rude, crude, and arrogant. Definitely he could learn something about 'finesse' from Richard Dawson.. RIP Mr. Dawson.

Not always when Louie Anderson hosted it was 4 rounds and whoever had the most points wins the game also the 4th round had the 1 Strike rule, and they kept it when Richard Karn hosted, but luckily when they abandoned the remix theme that classic Family Feud fans hated they went back the 1st to 300 points wins.
