i love this gag, it's just so...cute? there's no weird catch to it, just the characters having a good time paying homage to an iconic series. and i'm just always happy seeing an ida cameo, i love her!

The song always ended with Gonzo trying to play the final note on his trumpet, but something always went wrong. There would be an explosion, he would be hit by some foreign object, something would come out of the trumpet or it would make some weird noise. There was never an episode where the trumpet made a noise like a shofar.

Statler: Sure he may be a family guy but you know what he isnt? Waldorf: what? Statler: a good actor!
