As soon as I saw "Dying Fetus" I was like "ugh, here we go, get ready for horrific reactions", but surprisingly it was positive in this video. It just annoys me, because although people are aiming for a lot of views for their videos, it wouldn't hurt to make a legit video, and not something over the top. Every time someone makes a video, showing metal to a friend or family member, they choose a ridiculous, unintelligible Black Metal or Death Metal band, just so they get a shocked reaction. If you really want a non-metal fan to give it a chance, start them off with some Maiden or Sabbath, or even Metallica, and Ozzy's solo work. It's way easier than throwing something like Cattle Decapitation or Gorguts at them lol. Try watching Fine Bros showing Metallica to kids/teens. One guy goes "Is this like.... Rolling Stones or something?" Beavis & Butthead style, then goes on to say "ughhh, make it stop, this isn't music".

I think the point still stands that when introducing people to metal you really have to ease them into it. Start with heavy metal, symphonic metal, NWOBHM, then into thrash metal, melodic death metal, and so on.

CC is good for escapism. It's like when you need to take a deep breath. If you want more coherent listen, then yes, those bands you mentioned would be a better pick. But common, gotta appreciate what CC has done to death metal, they are very influential.

To add on to this, that is also a terrible choice to show someone for their first time listening to metal, mostly due to the fact that's is probably one of the most brutal albums ever produced.

Cannibal Corpse introduce me to death metal. I have no idea what metal is, I like Death but I wanted something much more brutal and violent and CC did really hooked my ass.
