my favorite times i like watching is the time you guys spend at the cottage

SOOO Good to "be back at the cabin" again. It's beautiful the way your neighbor getting that fan boat worked to help you out. Love your adventures, but the cabin and your life there is a different kind of special. A peaceful "home" feeling we share with you. Thanks for letting us in. ❤

These cottage videos are probably my favorite of all the video series - although watching the jeep go through Africa will be great too! Lando clearly remembers the cottage and feels like that place is his home. What a reaction whenever he returns to it.

Welcome back! My wife and I also live on an island not too far from you guys. However, we do have hydro. We spend winters in Cuba. And we also return in March and most often get back to the island by scoot (fan boat). Anyway, regarding your freezer... We leave a freezer full of food in a closet and cover the closet door with thick quilted blankets over the closet door. We keep a small space heater going on low through the winter months in that closet because if a freezer is left in below zero temperatures, it can work in reverse and melt the contents of the freezer. So your food can melt and then refreeze depending on the temperature fluctuations in your power room. We always fill a small plastic juice glass with water leave it in the freezer. After the water turns to ice, we place a coin on top of the ice in the glass. If the coin is still on top when we return, we know that nothing melted and refroze. Really enjoyed your video. We feel the same as you when we return and find everything just the way we left it. Two thumbs up!

We travelled the US and Canada for 6 months last year with our tiny 4x4 pickup camper and now it's twice the pleasure to follow you on your weekly episodes. Thank you so much for sharing. I can well understand that when you come back home after a few months. I myself spent over 40 years working all over the world in refineries, chemical plants, power stations and in the oil and gas industry. I was still traveling in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Romania and Arab countries at the age of 65 in 2018. That's how a senior site manager and senior engineer feels when he's on the job. A small job idea for the boys, you already have a barge, just need an aero engine and prop, some extra metal for building up the scuppers and material for an engine cage for safety.

In Texas, Louisiana and the South, we call that boat an "air boat" Noisy, but gets the job done in places a submerged propeller won't work. Glad you all got home safely.

In south Louisiana, we call those air boats and they’re FUN! But if you get one, PLEASE consider getting one with a cage around the fan blade. So much can go wrong on the water and it would simply be a disaster. Also, one way to always know if you lost power to the freezer is to freeze a small cup filled halfway w water. Place a quarter on top of it frozen, place the cup in the freezer and you can always see if the quarter remains on top - or did it partially sink and is refrozen? That means that power was lost but came back on ‘at some point’.

PS PS PS 💥How long did it take for the fan boat trip to reach your island please ????? What an awesome neighbour and what an awesome boat he has !!!! That final trip with Mum and the camera was unreal..... Thankyou !!!!! Thats the only way I'll ever experience a trip like that and it was simply unforgettable!!!!! Thank you for another wonderful video. When we go away for an extended period of time, we place a bowl with a few ice cubes into the freezer. If we come home, and the ice cubes are gone and there is either water or flat ice in the bowl, we know that the freezer was off at some point and we need to inspect the food for spoilage.

So happy you all back home safely, fan boat handy but so noisy for such a beautiful serene surrounding, but getting in and out especially if an emergency makes it a necessity I guess. Love love the drawing of Lando, beautifully done. Welcome home everyone 😊

Put a plastic cup of water in your freezer and let it freeze. Once frozen put a quarter on top of it and place back in the freezer. When you come back from an extended time away as long as that quarter is on top of the ice then the freezer never lost power. If it’s at the bottom or lower than the top then it melted and refrozen which means your meat is probably bad. Tip from Florida!

Glad you made it to the cabin safe and sound, it's always good to get home after being away! Glad everything was in good shape when you returned. We have airboats galore where we live on the Texas gulf coast for navigating through all the marshland and shallow bays. They're so practical, we just don't like it when some folks get to joy riding in the middle of the night...so loud! Hope you enjoy some relaxing downtime at home.

We have a solar system with inverter to 220 . For 8 years already it workt flawless with one freezer and one fridge. Chaco Paraguay.

I’ve followed you and your family for a few years and love your adventures. However, my favourite ones are when you and your family are at your home in northern Ontario. You guys have a little peace of Heaven and tranquillity. If I had the opportunity, I would live up there all year round. The excitement in your boys speaking about the place is very humbling. I also live in Ontario (Halton), and when I was younger, we would always make summer trips up north to Wawa. That drive is incredible, and my favourite part of the trip is between the Sue and Wawa; the provincial park route has some of the best views along Lake Superior. I do not often go up there in my adult life, but when I do, I'm a little kid again because the memories I had in my younger days with my dad and family are worth more than anything. I'm hoping to do it again in a few months. Thank you for sharing a private moment of your family piece of heaven
