I have a Zoleo device which I always carry with me when I go into remote areas to hunt or hike or canoe. I’m 76 years old and my wife told me I could no longer go out by myself unless I had some form of communication. The Zoleo is awesome and has never failed me.

So interesting.....winterizing to all of us in TX means covering some plants, making sure our animals have warm places and plenty of food, our vehicles have antifreeze, and our exposed pipes are wrapped. Most all our family was born and raised in the TX hill country, gulf coast area and deep south....so none of us have really been in a deeply frozen area for more than a few days at a time( we do have cold snaps when there is ice and in the teens for a few days). So it amazes me what you all have to do to get ready for winter and even what you have to do to live off grid!! What pioneers you are!!! Love it!!!

Humble my love of camping started through Scouting. It is great seeing a family work together, and that possibley we May survive having the knowledge of extreme temperatures in camping. Thanks

Incredible guys... what a life. In RE Zoleo. I'm out in the middle of nowhere Utah all of the time, by myself in a 31 year old Landcruiser and use Zoleo all the time to stay in touch with my family at home. Its worked flawless and the app is really great.

Everything looks so beautiful there. I like your rocks Carol. I've also collected them from US an Canada. I found 2 giant piles at a farm too. The farmer told me to take them. I hauled 20 truck loads to my house. Made flower gardens everywhere!!!! I'm even going to buy a big rock for my tombstone i think. I think granite. The big rock in my yard would chip if they tried to engrave it. Thanks guys. Merry Christmas.

Having the drones for surveillance is really nice. Some of them, I think, have programing where it will fly back and land from where it took off if the battery gets low. Point is, it might be neat to fly it at night and get some distance and moon shots and have it fly back and land... something like that. Also, for the future it might be nice to learn and play 3D chess.

Moving water don’t freeze,so would 2 pipes ,one drawing water from lake and return hose work.When water is needed inside a 3 way valve would divert to tank for short term.Cheaper than a heated hose until it’s in the budget and always a great backup later on.

Gee you guys are going to get cold weather for a few weeks. Out here in Alberta we are having and will have days of -26C and only about 3 cm. of snow. Then by next week we are having a Chinook blow in and for Christmas Day it will be -1C and Boxing Day +1C. YAHOOO!!!!

Thanks Pete Sr on your helpful discussion regarding communication devices for when you don’t have cellular/wifi. Being prepared like this goes along way to ensuring one’s safety out in the elements. Watched your video today and it was great ! We live in Nova Scotia but we decided to spend Christmas in Fort Myers where we own a condo . The weather has been great but going to be chilly at Christmas. Take care guys !
