I wholeheartedly agree with you, it’s still summer! Summer is over after Labor Day! I don’t consider it Fall/Autumn until middle to late September. Then I look forward to pumpkins, all things apples, especially apple butter on toast, or mixed with cottage cheese. Btw, congratulations on your new baby! Your doing a great job, Lisa! I make pesto with cashews (pine nuts are WAY too expensive and mostly from China) and keep some into the winter by freezing it in ice cube trays or in small ziploc bags laid flat and stacked.

Fun fact, this shape of gniocchi is called "kopytka" in Polish, which literally means "hooves". Does it look like hooves? No clue but it's delicious no matter how you call it. We eat it with sour cream and sugar or breadcrumbs and butter.

As a Southern Hemisphere girly, I'm also currently doing that thing of saying summer has arrived, even though we're definitely still in winter😂 I swear as soon as I only have to wear ONE pair of thick socks instead of TWO, I prance around happy for the warm weather

I am 100% in agreement, just because some people are starting school doesn't mean summer is over. Summer is a season that was here before school. I love summer and all it's bounty as well. We have the same taste buds girl, over here making me drool again.

I think it’s because it’s the end of summer break for kids but it’s the fall decorating videos popping up that blow my mind. I love fall but it’s gonna get here, we don’t have to rush it. I try to embrace slow, seasonal living. I’m not perfect but I’m with you, let’s soak up the warm, slow days of summer and make all the memories.

my 12 year old son loves to make your gnocchi recipe! It's so good. We use it to make copycat healthier olive garden chicken and gnocchi soup :) He also makes your sourdough loaf every night before going to bed :) I love teaching my 4 kids to love to cook! Thank you. You look for shortcuts… Did you know you can add dry pasta to your sauce with a little extra water, simmer until cooked and it makes for even more flavorful pasta with amazing texture? And only one pot! I didn’t know you could do this but my Italian mother in law did it for me once and I was so impressed with the flavor and efficiency. Try it! You’ll love it!

I think people have forgotten that regardless of when their children start school, that summer is until September 21st! We are on a seasonal rotation. In my home we celebrate summer even after school starts. In New England, school starts after Labor Day. However, we still have a 'summer camping' trip scheduled for September after school starts! I don't understand putting up fall decorations and pushing fall foods when it's 90+ degrees! Winter will come and will stay for a long time! (Especially in New England!) So, yes, I'm with you. So nice to see a video in August that's not a "Fall Video" a full 5-6 weeks before the actual season starts per the calendar! =)

Love this video! I am always baffled when ppl say end of summer and it's still August! I'm like huh?! Summer is my fave season so I soak it up all the way until I can't! Don't enjoy the colder months at all! I love the holidays though but not the weather associated with it. Congrats again on your new bundle of joy!

I think she's the only person on YT that isn't making Fall content already. And I'm glad, it was 30 degrees C here last week so seeing all the 'time for Fall' videos was really weird. 🤣🤣

If you're dealing with an abundance of basil, may i suggest preparing and freezing the pesto? We always go out to the forest in spring, collect wild garlic, make pesto from it, freeze it flat it packages and use it throughout the year...its super convenient and i just add some cream to it when serving it on pasta or add it into the layers when making lasagna 🤗

Pesto is so easy to freeze. I freeze mine in silicone ice cube trays. Once frozen, I place the cubes in a freezer bag and just add it to many yummy dishes. It thaws beautifully!

I freeze pesto in ice cube trays and then put in freezer bags. I love it with angel hair pasta and cream. I do put garlic and a squeeze of lemon juice when making pesto.

We try to experience each of the 4 seasons we get here to the fullest. Gnocchi is always a hearty pasta. I found the focaccia recipe to be a particularly good idea for us. The peaches, pork & herbs make a great summer supper: salad on the side & done.

I'm with you. Summer doesn't end until October 1st, as far as I'm concerned. I refuse to give into the marketing calendar. We live in a region where our Winters are harsh and Sub-Zero, and they begin around mid-November and end around early May. I'm not giving up one single day of my Summer!

You should see if you can opener has a magnet. I was worried that you were going to cut your pinky, but then remembered that a lot of can openers have magnets in the front. It’s easy to miss!

I agree, summer isn't officially over until September 21st! I love my enormous garden , my farm animals etc... I actually went to Hobby Lobby today and all summer items 75 & 90% off, I found beautiful decorations for my farmhouse. Summer could stay 12 months a yr...CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BABY
