So you said the kids have anemia issues and low iron and that excessive dairy causes low iron and then buy an insane amount of milk/cheese/yogurt and ice cream. I’m confused.

My husband is a pediatrician and he said that milk can make toddlers iron deficient only if they drink more than 24 oz a day and only if they're not getting enough iron right foods from leafy greens or red meat. Also please don't put that type of advice out there, if you're concerned then you should contact your own doctor who knows your specific children.

I have a family of fourteen this is an absolute lie. We don't consume that much food. we also don't buy that much groceries. Two boxes of cereal will last my family a week and a half. What happened to her thumbs?

Girl, Wegmans dill pickle chips are the best! I’m in NC and stuck with Mt. Olive most of the time and it’s the saddest thing ever😂 We do have 1 wegmans but it’s over 30 minutes from me. I go once in awhile and stock up on all the good stuff! Salt potatoes, Hoffmann hot dogs and coneys, Giovanni Italian sausage…. Then I hit the bakery for Tuscan bread, 1 apple fritter, a dozen bagels and half moon cookies! Oh and woman’s organic spaghetti sauce. I used to get dinosaur macaque chips until they lost their minds and stop making them😂 Yes…. I am a Syracuse girl born and raised❤

Hi I don’t know much about your lifestyle but here’s some food tricks to ease your day. So if you need something relatively cheap where I live there’s this weird cheaper shepherd’s pie that’s like a lasagna deep dish That you fill a third with cooked ground beef, onions spices like parsley, cumin, mustard seeds or to taste, then the second layer is cream style corn mix with regular corn and the last layer is mashed potatoes then broil it in the oven and most people eats it with homemade or store bought ketchup. Personally as someone That needs to cook a lot without supervising the food I either go to ethnic store and look for bulk tomatoes which are usually cheaper in those store. Or sometimes just the 1$ big cans of whole tomatoes can do and I just cook it with alliums, parley, coriander spinach, tomatoes paste, spices like cumin origano, thyme and bay leafs and bouillon cubes of powder, and it makes good sauce bases, I do the same for soups but take out the spinach, I add carrots, potatoes , celery leafs, lentils and sometimes small pastas and/or slow cooking meats which can makes enough for 15 in one big enough pot Also a cheaper sugar source that’s natural could be birch syrup, it’s basically the same process as maple syrup but cheaper and as real. And sometimes ethnic stores have cheaper meats like I love merguez which are spicy mutton sausages that goes with a lot of food Ps: I am not a native English speaker and do not live in the US so info on prices could vary and I am not here to criticize anything about how people deal with their own life

I would save the name brand allergy bottles and when they are out get the generic/store brand and put it in the name brand container. No one knows but you..❤

If you do food from Puerto Rico, I suggest boiled green bananas with corned beef. It’s a basic meal but oh so good. I know you like bananas so trying true green bananas boiled might be something you guys may like. There’s so many good foods for PR. Rellenos de papas, pollo guisado with rice, malanga with bacalao. I know you’ve tried mofongo before, there’s other fried foods that are so good too like bacalaitos or alcapurrias. Pasteles are my favorite but take a lot of work to do. It’s usually done for the holidays. Desserts maybe templeque, arroz con dulce, or flan. I’m getting hungry now lol 😂 just wanted to share since I saw the green bananas and was like I wonder if they’ve tried them boiled with corned beef or any meat really. Some eat it with pernil or cubed steak. Ohh cubed steak with onions (bistec encebollado) is also very good. With some rice beans and maduros yummm 😋 yeah I’m definitely hungry 😂

if you have Saturdays as a crazy day or any other day. Maybe if your schedule allows you can cook for two days and have leftovers for Saturday. This will help you a lot. for me it does. Sometime I make three meals in one days because I have a busy schedule as well. Its just a suggestions but you know your schedule more. Hope that this helps.

Alicia, when we don't want to cook some elaborate meal we normally just pick a something easy to make like breakfast for dinner. You guys have a ton of breakfast items at your stores to pop in the oven or microwave ready to eat. We also have like frozen meals, am sure you guys have it there too. If not, instant noodles with chopped veggies and some steamed sauges is the next best thing. Hope this helps!

I was anemic too as a child. We were very poor and didn’t have enough food. But as an adult, I’ve learned to control my anemia, by eating lots of very green vegetables which are rich and iron, and a lot of meat, especially beef. I have not been anemic for many many years because of eating meat. I’m not saying that’s what you have to do but it’s just an example. My husband and son love both Dr Squatch and Duke Cannon in fact we are awaiting a shipment from Duke Cannon as we speak . My guys prefer like the nature smelling stuff because they are very much into outdoors activities like hunting and fishing . They have a soap that smells like Gunpowder that our trapshooting son loves .My guys have quit using shampoo and conditioner and just use the bar of soap .

If you can find them, marcona almonds are amazing with tapas. I like to use those with Manchego cheese and Iberian ham with dried figs and honey. I lightly grill some good bread and it makes a great sharing platter

It's hard cooking big meals when you run alot. Especially during sports season. My 2 boys where in a sport every season and I was like you Alicia . I still cooked. But some days you got to eat light. It's hard.
