Meet Thomas and Alexandra. Together with their two boys, Jack and James, they sail a Mariholm 32E from 1976. Thomas bought this boat nearly 10 ago with two friends dreaming of a big sailing trip. Seven months ago he untied the lines with his family. We talk about cruising on a small boat with kids and of course we’ll have a look at the boat.

Been there. On a 33. That was a real challenge. Mostly just tankage issues, a single sink. I did enjoy the kids being so close. If they were both small I'd still have it. But the oldest is 11 now. With his own cabin I don't see him as much. Bothersome. So cherish those times when the kids fit where you don't have to go looking for them. They grow so fast.

leuk jullie hier tegen te komen , ik ga jullie ook volgen , ik heb ook jaren op een schip gevaren in de machine kamer , ik heb meer dan 60 jaar in NL geleefd nu terug geëmigreerd naar Hongarije groetjes Zoltán 🙏🙏

I would say if you can make a bigger boat happen then to do so. A water maker with solar and wind could help with your water needs but space for growing children is only going to come with a bigger boat. Better prices in places where people get to and decide not to go further and put their own boat on the market. I would sell in Europe and buy in the Caribbean. All the best to you and yours.

Hi Jessica, Jullie ook de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar dat het maar een mooi zeil jaar mag zijn voor jullie. Dit was ook weer een mooi inkijkje in het leven van dit koppel en hun 2 jongens in een best wel kleine boot dat ze best wel ver gekomen zijn maar dat een grotere reis wel wat meer nodig is qua ruimte het was weer een leuke show om te zien 👍👍👍

Very nice. I was happely suprised hearing them sailing a Marieholm and almost decided to upgrade to a Marieholm 32e as well.

Nice enjoyable to listen to and watch,what ever you do don’t stop the dreams I’m 77 dreaming just found my boat and bought it mybe not around the world but South Pacific islands French Polynesian it’s not the destination but the journey.

Very nice guys 👍👍 regarding space on our valiant 40 from 1977 with 2 cabins.. it works for our family of 4 (kids 8 and 10) Still in the v-berth for the kids.. but dividers work well too

Mate you truly need a larger boat if you our going to continue sailing and truly enjoy what the water has to offer then a bigger boat is a must love watching your channel

@@thomasroels84 Thanks for i fo. I was owned 4 years agp Marieholm32E. For me she was to slow. Now I have Gambler35. Very good, open sea fast comfortable sailing yacht from 1980. Lenght of waterline 8.8m draft 2.0m keel 3.2, displacement 6.4t, mast 16m.
