Omni-man vs Homelander? That seems pretty lopsided. Omni-man is just way WAY too powerful for Homelander to stand any sort of chance.

Two things important to note that they dont spell out too clearly: ~He had to wait to see if Mark had powers because he was hoping he didn't. If he didn't, then he could just wait for Mark to die of old age before starting his invasion plans, but once the lowers manifested... Couldn't keep putting it off anymore. ~Most of that horrific talk to Mark was really Omniman trying to convince himself he was in the right, he had moved too far away from his people's mentality with his time in earth. It was self-talk more than a real convincing argument

in the end debbie was the real hero. she infected omniman with just enough human empathy to make it impossible for a born and bred alpha-level super-sociopath to complete his mission.

"You hope he has any reasonable explanation". He has very reasonable explanation. His civilization is the greatest in the galaxy, they live like empire and conquer others. Humans doesn't have any reason to think they're above other humans(unlike Omni man and his people) and many Empire's in history done just the same shit

Such a brutal episode! The first time I saw that scene with the train I was genuinely shocked, it's rare for a show to have that effect on me nowadays.

In the comics, we get a brief moment of peace, after where season one stopped, for a little bit but then, the mood change gives you whiplash, if I remembered correctly. I just know that some of the things that happen to Mark will be brutal physically and mentally.

Omniman leaving is actually extreme significant and massive character progress. With it he betray vilyrum amd become wanted for execution amd hunted down by entire viltrumite army. That train is the most brutal thing Ive seen on any cartoon or show and man did I love it haha love this show

It sounds callous af but it actually makes perfect sense calling Debbi a pet. For easy math lets say a human lives for 100 years. He lives for thousands of yesrs, thats plural so at the very least 2000 years. Meaning a human is roughly 5% of his lifespan. If you get a dog, that will stay with you for almost 20% of yours. When you get a pet you do that with the knowledge that you WILL outlive it. Doesnt mean you dont love it. Most people loves their dog like a family member, sometimes more than actual family. Its not at all an inferior love, just love that you know you will have to give up some day. You have that preconvied knowledge going into the relationship, thats all. I think Nolan waited to see if Mark got powers cuz if he DIDNT, Nolan would postpone the invation untill Mark and Debbi had died to not subject them to the truth. In a fakked up and backwards way, he truely does love them.

Immortal doesn’t mean can’t die. It just means he can’t die from normal means like getting sick or old age. He can still be killed by someone more powerful then him. But luckily for him once his body is put back together he has the ability to come back

Two underrated masterpieces or if you want to watch another animated show then watch Arcane, it’s a masterpiece in every aspect (animation, voice acting, writing, cinematography, score, etc) and better than Invincible, not that Invincible is not great but Arcane is in another level. And Homelander is nothing to Omni Man, there’s so many comic book characters that would wipe the floor with Homelander. He ain’t that powerful, he is in The Boys universe but not compared to other superheroes and supervillains of other comic books.

Don’t know if anybody’s mentioned it, but it’s something that didn’t really register to me till we got to this episode. Mark’s dad is literally just average for a viltrumite of his age. He is a trusted officer, but just a normal officer by their military standards. He is not even close to being the actual toughest dude on his planet. That dude exists though. You saw him in that flashback as one of the survivors of the Viltrum civil war. And I can’t wait for you guys to meet him.
