M’Dear is a name of affection typically given to the matriarch of a southern family. Madea is also a play on the term of affection. Different families will have different ways to say it. My husband’s family is from Alabama and M’Dear is what his grandmother was called.

In 90’s in sitcoms, most kids were dark skin, in 2019, they are lighter and lighter, even when both parents are black 🤔 This made me think of Y&R, when Drucila and Neil has a white daughter😫😤
