Your art tastes like roasted marshmallows

This is my essay on this video, you may see this as a full-length commentary about your work: Let’s first talk about the main ambiance of this work. The ambiance is warm and calm which plays an important role in establishing a comfortable scenery in which two long lost siblings need to have an important talk about each other’s relationship. The colors in orange tint and yellow bring the feeling of a sunset or dawn. Those hot colors create a warm feeling that is communicated to the spectator. This is incredibly done and makes us feel the warmth of Ccino’s Café which creates comfort. Second, the music creates the perfect atmosphere for a dream induced sequence that is fitting for the Dreamtale brothers. The usage of Antent and Dreamscapes melodies bring out a certain vibe that changes the work for the better. The editing is most amazing and deserves the mention from the cut of the music when Nightmare puts his cup down to the beginning of a new soundtrack better fitting the scene. Third, the artwork and the character design are perfect. The harden stare of Nightmare, the switch between art style done with perfection and the way it never looks quite out of place. Special mention to the background. Forth, we need to approach the situation in hand and the most important topic of this work which is the relationship between Dream and Nightmare. One that has been lost and destroyed through time apart from each other and that has been grieved and mourned enough. Nightmare wishing to move on and not be stuck in the past like his brother. A past that he has hated from the bottom of his soul. A past that tainted his vision and perception of his brother to the point of making it almost unsalvageable. Dream wanting only to fix what he wasn’t capable before and to find his other half. The brother he longed for, while being stuck in an endless prison. We may never know what happened in there, was he conscious? Stuck in an endless prison unable to sleep, move or talk only able to think as if it was a coma. Or did he wake up suddenly as if it was a normal night of sleep? Those two have a relationship that has been destroyed and both are wanting to move in opposite way. One wants to reconnect, the other to move on. One lingers for the other and the other wants to avoid him for the suffering it creates. On a more personal note, I love the fact that Nightmare acknowledges Dream’s intentions and the fact that he must’ve suffered from their violent separation and from his lost time in his stone-cold prison. Many people tend to put the blame on the other without acknowledging the reasons and perspective of the other. I love the back and forth of emotions from melancholy to sadness finally to peace. I’ll end this by writing that it was a pleasure to watch this video fully and letting myself embark on this reunion that we are all longing for. I know this may be only a partial essay since I didn't include everything but I still think you deserve it. I'm sorry I didn't get to post this comment 5 days ago but I needed to work on this a bit more. Thank you for your dedication and your amazing work.

I felt Dream quite a bit. As someone who has trouble letting go of a memory of someone I loved leaving me alone and saying words like this to me, I feel them. Yes, I cried at this video, but thats not the point. You'll always feel that yearning for what you once had with that person. As that one audio says, nights will feel strangely cold and lonely without them. I've never been able to let go of this memory, despite letting go of most of the past. Some memories will stay with you no matter what. There is nothing you can do to please that want, after all. Edit: Great video, by the way.

I'm in total love with the story you've created. Normally, I don't tune into family bad guys, but the way you've portrayed it just felt so natural. Like there was no other option lol! And the talk! The *talk*. As much as I love Dream, Nightmare was in the right to say that Dream's selfish ways had originated from being stuck in stone for so long... But I feel like the fact that Dream is also *mentally* younger than Nighmare probably didn't help. Same with how from a *very* young age Dream was convinced the only way to be happy was help others. Of course he'd want to do things for himself without thinking of others. What Nightmare said may be the reality check that Dream needed to start getting better and moving on. I don't think Dream's guilt is going to go all the way away. But maybe years down the line, maybe the two of them can be friends again. Nightmare has healed, now it's up to Dream to find his own way of happiness with accidentally ruining Nightmare's. Sorry for rambling, I just am a tiny obsessed with Dreamtale.

I love this video so much, im going to rant about it for a couple minutes. it really gave me a whole new view on the dreamtale brothers. I definitely love their personalities, but what I really like, is how you showed their reactions to their individual trauma. Dream doesn't want to let go of the past, because it was all stripped away from him within a few hours, before he was encased in stone for centuries. He isn't as emotionally developed as Nightmare is (as you said), and i never thought about that before! I think it makes a lot of sense, after all, he has like half the life experience that Nightmare does. From his perspective, he woke up in an entirely new world without his only support (that being his brother), and is thrown into life threatening situations without having a lot of time to process anything that happened. Of course he would want to go back to when things were simpler! And I think you portrayed his reaction to all of that extremely realistically (I also like how Nightmare doesn't blame him for the way he acts, afterall it isn't really his fault), I admire that so much And Nightmare... I love the way you show Nightmare!! His emotions theyre so.. right?! and beautiful?! and he isn't afraid to say how he feels, in fact he knows exactly how to tell people exactly how he feels. He doesn't coddle Dream, or lie to him, but at the same time, he doesn't blame him for how he acts. This is an AMAZING way of showing emotional maturity. He knows why Dream acts the way he does, he knows that he himself doesn't like it, but he doesn't blame Dream for it. Though, that doesn't mean he even likes Dream at all, in fact, he hates him! and he tells Dream that. And yet he can still understand Dream's point of view! That's great, in fact i think that most people should learn to act this way. Two things can be true at the same time. You can dislike someone, and still understand their point of view, and want the best for them. Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to do a little breakdown and character analysis. Again, your video is wonderful, I've watched every video of yours and they're all so high quality, AND YOUR ART, AHH ITS SO GOOD!!! it inspires me so much. Take care!!!

Мне так нравится эта атмосфера их отношение и я чувствую насколько персонажи спокойны, нет этой быстрой динамики которая иногда всё портит. Взаимотношения Найта и Дрима. Как Найтмер относит к своей команде- не как это обычно бывает, что все уходят и он остаётся один, то как рассыпается стена чужих видов- когда оказывается, что отношения у плохих парней- лучше чем у звёздных, то что он стали семьёй и пытаются быть ближе- спокойная атмосфера, иногда такого в видео очень мало. Одним словом это прекрасное видео и ваш прекрасный канал покорили моё сердце. Я очень редко на таких видео улыбаюсь, но это видео заставило мою ровную и спокойную, наигранную улыбку превратиться в нечто другое, улыбалась как дурочка.

боже, я не могу не написать комментарий, мне очень нравится динамика, рисовка и такая приятная передача атмосферы. Линия Найтмера и Эррора не кажется уже такой неприемлемой для меня, наоборот, этот эпизод\серия заставили меня почувствовать комфорт.
