Philadelphia police are investigating after a 6-month-old baby girl was left inside a day care facility alone after it closed on Thursday night.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on the 4400 block of Whitaker Avenue in the city's Hunting Park section.
Police say when the family arrived, the day care was closed and locked up so they called 911.
"I was hoping that someone didn't take my daughter and I was hoping that she was okay," said Camron Banks, the girl's father in an exclusive interview with Action News.

Maybe the parents had Doctors appointments or had to work late. No daycare should let a child. Alone if that child was found home like both them parents would be found for neglect.glad the baby was not hurt.

That's what I was wondering. Like did they load her in the seat anticipating her pickup and then what? Just forgot she was there??? She must be a pleasant, quiet kid. Might have been better for her if she was more vocal. I sure hope she wasn't in that car seat all DAY too.

@@NavvyMom that part about being in the seat all day but she also shouldn’t have been preloaded either. The teacher, closing staff, manager and owner are now under investigation or should be! Everything about that establishment gets questioned.

The spca has better security for cats and dogs, and make you sign out pets a worker will get pet give to person etc.someone in charge at so called "day ..care?? What kind of "care "? that?? We will see what if anything happens or changes at "day care"

i assume they loaded her up to get ready for her to get picked up and she ended up falling asleep and that must be how they overlooked her. but my question is how do they keep track of who was there that day and picked up vs who hasn't been picked up yet? because whatever they're doing in that regard obviously isn't good enough.

Daycare closes at 6, what time did parents show up? No one asking that question. But daycare should be checking in and out sheet for each child and final walk throughs, not just shutting off lights.
