A lot of people don’t take black coffee anymore with places like Starbucks being everywhere now. As a former barista, I can tell you only about 300 dollars out of the 11,000 we would make per day would be for black coffee. Most people want to be able to enjoy their caffeinated beverage and not force themselves to drink overly bitter bean juice. So I think people genuinely didn’t think black because most people don’t take black coffee anymore
