In this video, we visit Tacotal, an intentional community/ecovillage in the jungles of Costa Rica where musician Cyrille Aimée has built a unique off-grid house. She had no past experience designing or building houses, but she did an exceptional job and shares the process in this off grid house tour.

Cyrille est un vrai rayon de soleil ☀️ ( quand je la regarde et l'écoute je met de la crème et chausse mes lunettes 😎 peur de brûler au dixième degrés ) cette maison lui ressemble, pleine de couleurs, de lumières, d'espace. I think the overhang is long enough for that to not happen. If it's really windy, I'm not sure. She never said she had that issue yet

I heard about this amazing house from her, when she visited Gwacheon (a small city in South Korea) jazz music festval. It's lucky to get chance to know about this beautiful house designed by herself. I hope someday visit her house and also invite her my future music house♡♡♡ Wish my dream will come ture☆ :)

Wow what an amazing house full of life and color, surrounded by life and color. My only question is how is she going to record in that studio room where sound clearly bounces off of every hard surface ? Without material absorbing the bouncing sound, the recordings won’t be good.

This is beautiful! …but I have so many questions! How does she keep everything so nice and clean when the whole house is wide open? How does it stay like that when she’s gone? How is humidity and rain not an issue?

What I can tell you about humidity is having an open air house is the best solution. The air flow prevents mold from growing

So she said the only time it's an issue of things getting wet is if the rain comes in horizontal but that very rarely happens. And if it does and things get wet, by the next morning everything is dry again because of the sun and constant wind

Wow, just stumbled onto this, was watching her videos. Incredible house and stories, but as others have asked about the open air concept, what about animals getting in? I’m in a cottage right now, and it’s tough keeping bugs out, dealing with the ones that get in, and then there are other animals, that would walk in, climb in, or, in this case, fly in. I see some doors and windows, but there seem to be huge areas with neither.
