I'm not including supporting or character western actors in this video, I’m sure there are some that have been in more! A video for another day.

Tim Holt. 46 westerns, king of RKO B westerns, top five US box office 1949-51. B-29 navigator during the war.

All these actors are good (and very good), but only one is the best - John "Duke" Wayne! I think - John Wayne starred in 82 westerns!

Aside from Tom Mix, he made the most. In his early years he was prolific. Where most were made.

I believe Rory Calhoun did approximately 23 westerns, not to mention 'The Texan' series.

Your probably right. I try to stick to western movies when talking about how many westerns. TV series is another level.

@@famouspeople63 Yeah I know you meant movies, I just added the series along with the twenty or so western movies he did that would match the other guys 20 westerns you began the video with. Several others had around a dozen to fifteen really good westerns, in particular would be Widmark and Robert Taylor.
