FAMU is such a classy band. They will take music that always sounds awful on paper, make it characteristic, and still be entertaining. Good for them!

Might not be the greatest arrangement but it sounds super nice. The execution is typical FAMU. Quality over sheer power.

I have listened to all of them and FAMU hands down. The Tuba's are knocking them in the Head sharp and grovey!

@Kinzer007 That question should really be directed to someone from FAMU but it is a term that a couple of bands use but originated at FAMU from legendary band director Dr. William Foster when he was director. It kind of means hurry up, or let's go, or pep up. So you say Hubba Big Band (Lets Go Big Band). Of course that is my definition. It may be more to it if you search FAMU history.

A lot of people like to say that FAMU doesn't come with power... Thats straight BULL... Famu doesnt OVERBLOW so its gon SOUND like noones trying to blow but in reality we are MUCH louder than other bands...

@harrah5 FAMU is known for its journalism school. and they graduated successful journalits. also they announced at the florida classic this year as the band was entering the field that they have achievements in acedemics

@harrah5 yeah i know they had that problem before but when they got the president they have now back in 2007 he's been making FAMU look good

@TheDragonmaster18 OK, you have changed the topic up a bit talking about outside of band, but FAMU is a great program but there are plenty of HBCU that have the quality outside of band part covered with good programs. But to say both excellence in band and school, only folks that come close IMO would be BCU, NSU and JSU.
