My interpretation on the meaning: Starts off with a young guy thinking about a relationship he once had and how that bond broke him physically and emotionally. The next part talks about him looking for those old feelings of love and safety he had through one night stands and short flings but by the end of the song he realizes when his partner leaves in the morning he’s still looking for those old feelings and in turn wakes up feeling worse than he was before. :)

I think is more along the lines of he is in a long distance relationship (two oceans in between us), but he keeps cheating on his partner. He knows it's wrong but he can't stop, blaming his "primal" inticts (my conscience burning, my beastly flaw). He feels guilty about it (I'm a sickness and I know it's true) but he can't stop (outro).
