Gaethje's debut was a 5 round main event against a Top 5 opponent! I doubt that will ever happen again and it shows just how confident the UFC was in Gaethje's ability to entertain

@dylanmitcham1069 , that was interesting because Khabib finished Johnson when Johnson was no.6 ranked, then he moved up in the rankings somehow to no.5 place, and then Gaethje fought Johnson. I doubt Johnson was top 5 level at that point coming from a finish loss, but still a good debut for Gaethje.

Silva is my personal GOAT, not for his accomplishments or record, but for the aura of magic he was bringing to the octagon. in his best days you knew he would win by finish, and still he managed to shock you by doing it in new and crazy ways

Good choice. I go with DJ because I think he demonstrated the highest consistent level of martial arts for the longest time. But Silva is right up there too for me and I can see nothing wrong with the choice.

@@miro9945 pretty much all the commentators these days, Joe Rogan only brings up omaplatas, leg kicks and oddly men’s physique (to detail). Dc and bisping bias towards wrestlers or Brits, and Jon anik bringing up custody battles, divorces and everything else but fighting. Tf you want to hear.

I'd think Jiri should be number one. We are more used to his style now but that shit was captivating the first time you saw it. Just staring wondering what he will do next. At least number 2, I'm okay with Silva at 1.

Back in 2014, I was so excited to see Eddie Alvarez make his UFC debut. I am a Japanese mma fan and Eddie had a huge fan base here in Japan. Great fights against Joachim Hansen, Kawajiri Tatsuya, Katsunori Kikuno in DREAM. unfortunately, he lost his debut bout but later he became a ufc champion. I was so happy to see that 😢🎉

I think ufc should add more beautiful south east asian martial arts like khun khmer or/and burmese lethwei. Then ufc will be a real rival for one championship. It will be muaythai - one champ. khun khmer+lethwei - ufc TV ratings of ufc will rise in asia and world wide
