I’m of the opinion that few men in human history have acquired the wrestling knowledge that Jon Smith has. Especially when you combine his knowledge of both folk and freestyle.

John smith is such a good coach cause his techniques are so perfect for body mechanics and it you don’t have to be so strong to do them. It’s all technique

I gotta be honest... I am wayyyy to old to be doing wrestling, BUT.... This spiral ride breakdown is PERFECT for BRAZILAN JIU-JUTSU as an alternative to acquiring rear mount position. If BJJ is going to evolve, then it has to start implementing wrestling moves into its arsenal. Thx Coach John Smith.

I agree, i do both currently and im in highschool, these wrestling techniques work great at getting good positione in jiu jitsu.

@iarebedoingshopping6863 I use to wrestle. Wayyyyy before you were born. I love the submission aspects of BJJ, but....my heart is with wrestling. Wrestling is dominant in top pressure, and I love the aggressive takedowns. Most people who take BJJ do not know wrestling, which is why I think wrestlers have a huge advantage. I think Bo Nickals is going to be champion of his UFC weight division because he is so dominant in wrestling.

I'm a purple belt from Brazil and i can say that we are definitely looking into wrestling as a form to upgrade jiu-jitsu. I say it with certainty that in the next 10 years we're going to see a huge grow in wrestling in BJJ, some people even say that we are right now at the birth of "submision grappling" wich combines both worlds. I use some wrestling moves myself and i'm seeing a huge growth in my game: half nelson, inside single leg, spiral ride, grandy roll, ankle picks, are a staple to me now. The problem here in Brazil is that wrestling is not common knowledge, it is very hard to find good teachers here.
