Sad it all ended when we got booted out of the Malaysia cup...things has never been the same anymore..

Forest Manager was so impressed by Fandi that he wanted to sign him...only to find out he already past 30yr of age n gave up e idea...he told reporters he would have signed him if he will still in his 20s...what a pity!!!

Now we have billion dollar stadium But cannot even fill the place with 55000 passionate fans on a regular basis Mangkok

One thing Singapore Football lack in now is a dense loyal fans. Most are glory hunters nowadays, only willing to support if you win. But the now generation forget that in order to win, you need desire and goal which both they are lacking in at Club Level and National setting. The players need fans more than ever now but most older generation and newer, only remember about glory days, the biggest flaw is Singapore Football. Hope it'll change now that SPL is getting much better than 5 years ago.

I was there at the Singapore National Stadium that day. Left at the 87 minutes for fear of traffic/human jam later. Regretted that decision, because Nottingham Forest coming to Singapore to play a friendly only happened once in a lifetime. Kept the ticket stub all these years.

hope that now the garmen take back the stadium , they can give poor singaporeans cheaper ticket prices . Sports is a great way to unite a country . the garmen really should look at subsidising prices . i used to pay $10-$15 for grandstand football tickets . normal tickets was like $5 ? nowadays who will pay $30-$50 man ? and for low football standards ...not like the heady malaysia cup days ...the football was so good ... tong hai , fandi , sundrum . even remember how david lee used to rush out and collect every corner cross ? nowadays the keeper cant even do this man .

Wow almost 30 years ago. And Singapore was actually good in football. After their Malaysia Cup win in 1994, that was the peak. It was downhill all the way after that. The passion of supporting Singapore in the Malaysia Cup with stiff competition is what brought up the standard of football in Singapore. The S League is crap really.

Singapore football is really bad now. Because nowadays Singaporeans play futsal or 5 v 5 with soccer ball lol. Futsal play use futsal ball. Soccer 7 or 11 a side then use soccer ball size 5. Which ball to play with also don't know. And the coaches keep pushing for pass and move concept vs developing confidence and creativity on dribbling and ball control at close quarters/tight spaces. That's we are so bad now. Singapore football should just focus on developing our futsal team instead. Kampung buangkok futsal team is something worth investing time to develop 👍
