The BG music and the fabulous cinematography make this the one of the best Cdrama films. The continual tension in the story from the threats of the traitors - the fact that Jianming was just poisoned the night he married Haishi. And then this - the set up to expose Haishi - makes it all heart wrenching. Add all that to the ethereal beauty of actress Yang Mi who plays Haishi. Ms.Chen Xiao Yun as Princess Ti Lan is lovely. William Chan and Xu Kai Cheng are so elegant & handsome. I still have not watched the last 4 episodes because I know it all goes bad. 😪

Lol this part was poor writing. How is it that she is identified as a woman when her hair is down. I loved this drama a lot but this is one of those parts that just aren’t realistic Also the way the men just instantly demanded that they execute the woman without trial or explanation is inhumane. But I’m sure at this time(fictional or not) brains weren’t yet evolved for reason and fairness.

Many cultures have different things that identify whether a person is a man or woman, same with laws in regards to cross dressing in other dramas is punishable by law I've seen some show its punishable by death or even heavy prison time. Haishi without knowing her past just looks like a very pretty boy, there are likely many contextual clues that we are blind to, as we are only receptive to translations, and we can interpret based on our views and how we were raised and what influences our cultures.

See I never really could forgive the man. He marries the girl. Spends the wedding night with the girl knocked out. Then next day he looks his best friend the emperor in the eye and asks him to take her in as a consort. She should have slapped his ass and kicked him in the balls so many times before she even considered forgiving him. I love the show but he is an ass to her.
